My family has been going to Dr.Altenbach since he took over the practice. The staff is very caring and make having to go to the dentist not so terrible. Dr.Altenbach, also addressed an issue that I'd had for awhile that no other dentist before had talked to me about. My daughter also loves going, and she's eleven!

I have been a patient of this practice for over 20 years now. Dr. Altenbach was carefully chosen to continue the tradition of his predecessors. Here is what get at this practice – old time values, with 21th century knowhow. I have gone thru several other dentists before I found this practice. The others had one central theme, how could you line the good (or not so good) dentist’s pockets with the absolute minimum amount of effort on the practitioner’s part. My wife’s dentist finds work to do again and again, his incompetence or greed resulting in repeated unneeded visits. She goes because she likes his staff.

Don’t get me wrong – if you are looking for cheap – you can find it. Just go an assembly line practice, there are many of them – good luck. This is a traditional practice where the staff (many of which have been there over 20 years that I know about) knows the patients. Dr. Altenbach takes time with each patient. He, not just his staff, just spent over a hour custom fitting a crown I needed. He sweats the details. You will find this approach is much less painful on the mouth and the wallet in the long run.

For what it is worth, I get the sense Dr. Altenbach is a conservative religious man with strong family values. He also is pretty good at catching a wave from what I understand. I want a good grounded person who is consistent with his life and his practice. This man is it. You will never catch the good doctor doing stupid stuff that many in his profession seem to relish in. I suspect you would catch him spending quality with his young family at any hour of his off-time.

There may other practitioners in Jacksonville; personally I drive from the Beaches to the location of the practice, about 30 minutes in off peak times. Having dealt with far less capable or less ethical practitioners, I would drive 2 hours to ensure I get the care I get at Dr. Altenbach’s.

While I can't honestly say I "look forward to" my dental appointments, I CAN say that I very much look forward to interacting with Dr. Altenbach, his hygienists, and the office staff, all of whom are so friendly, professional, and caring. Dr. Altenbach's energy, expertise, love of dentistry, and devotion to his patients inspire confidence and make each visit as pleasant as possible!

Actually this is from Mickey's wife, Jane. I, like some others, have been going to this practice for the past 25 or 30 years. I have always been treated with the utmost professionalism. I was pleased that Dr. Altenbach and his staff continue as the practice has been in the past. Both he and his staff make every effort to make you comfortable with whatever procedure is necessary. I really appreciate the technical care as well as the friendliness of everyone.

I have been a patient of this practice for 50 yrs. From Dr Groom to Dr Wagner to Dr Alton and for the last several years Dr Altenbach. The integrity, professionalism, and concern I recall from Dr Groom as a child and later as a young adult, has been carried forward through the years. And always up to date with current technologies of dental medicine and care. I highly recommend Dr Altenbach and his staff for your family's dental needs.

Dr. Altenbach is fresh enough out of dental school to be up on the newest techniques yet has enough experience to be very good. His staff is great, too.

Dr. Altenbach is professional, friendly, and genuine. Exactly the type of person and atmosphere you hope for when having to choose a dentist.

I've been coming to see Dr. Altenbach, and before him, Drs. Alton and Wagner for 15 years. They are awesome. They tell you what you need to do to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Ask for Janis to do your cleaning. She's AWESOME

The best staff and Dentist ever...I would never go anywhere else..

The staff is always very courteous and professional, and always listen to what's going on. Dr. Altenbach is tough, he examines every little detail and explains his thoughts and allows me to ask questions. I'm very happy with every visit.
