I am completely terrified of the dentist. I had an emergency and my husband found this place open on a Saturday! First time I had been to the dentist in years. I can not even begin to tell how amazing this visit was! The entire staff is so amazing. It was peaceful, calming, and all-around pleasant! I even went back. She is now my dentist!!

I had been having terrible headaches, pain in my jaw, neck and excruciating bursts to my temple. My regular doctor referred me to a neurologist. After several tests, he concluded that I had nerve impingements in my neck and irritation in the central and posterior of my brain. When I asked what could be done, his nurse practitioner said that there is no set treatments other than surgery or NSAIDS. There hasn't been a day in the past few years that I haven't had to take something. Usually, I would take BC Arthritis powders, trying to alternate with other NSAIDS, but this started affecting my stomach. About 3 weeks ago, after another Teledoc visit and no relief, I visited my regular doctor again. She treated me as if I had another sinus infection. She also mentioned that maybe I should see a dentist for my jaw and that it could be TMJ. I had no definite toothache. It was mainly headaches, dizziness, jaw and neck pain and my tongue burned. A few days later, we were scheduled to attend a meeting in Panama City Beach. I felt horrible and by this point I was terribly nauseated too. We made our way from Alabama to the beach. I prayed for help as I googled "a good dentist" in close proximity to where we were staying, that would be able to check me. After another sleepless, agonizing night, I called Dr. Shabana Azam's office (approximately 3 miles from me). At first, Christie, the receptionist, told me that they closed at noon and they couldn't see me that day. I apologetically told her that I was going to try a couple of other places and that I was in pain. She said, "wait, let me ask the doctor". Dr. Azam agreed to see me if I could be there quick. She and her wonderful assistant, Thomas, evaluated me, made a plan to drill out the old silver fillings that were deteriorating and touching nerves on a lower AND an upper tooth. I was terrified! I have ALWAYS had dental phobia therefore, I have always tried to take good care of my teeth to avoid having to go, not to mention no insurance, the costs as well!
Dr Azam gave me something to help with the anxiety and I returned the next day. She and Thomas were fantastic! It took a little over four hours but they were so compassionate and took their time, repeatedly making sure that I was comfortable and okay. They placed temporary crowns and within a few days, I couldn't believe how good I felt. I had actually forgotten how it felt to FEEL GOOD! NO PAIN, NO BC POWDERS, NO ANYTHING! I had no idea that it was my TEETH causing all that pain! I returned a few weeks later to have the permanent crowns placed. I feel so at home there! Anastasia, the receptionist, called the next day to ask how I was feeling! So sweet! I can't thank Dr. Azam and Thomas enough for their miracle work! I feel they are honest, professional and I highly recommend them!
Sorry this is so long, but if I can help someone else by telling my story, its worth it.

This is the worst dental office I have ever been to. There are only 2 people working there, the dentist and one girl that trys to take appointments, answer phones and take xrays as well as assist the dentist. My appointment was orginally at 1:00 but was asked to move out to 2:00 which I agreed. The office girl took xrays around 2:40 and the dentist came in at 3:00. She wanted to do an extensive cleaning which my previous dentist said I didn't need and my insurance would not cover and refused to do a regular cleaning. I did't file a complaint with Cigna Dental. Just beware if you decide to go there.

The staff at White Sand Dental took me in last minute for a broken tooth, placed a temporary crown, and within two weeks had my permanent crown ready to go. Second appointment took less than 15 minutes. If you have a choice of dentists in the area, I would highly recommend White Sand. Amazing experience!

Good thing I got a second opinion! I went in as a new patient for a cleaning. She diagnosed me with needing 5 crowns and without my consent had her hygienist perform an unnecessary periodontal cleaning. I did not need any crowns nor did I need a periodontal cleaning. In addition to this dentist trying to bully me, they never refunded my deposit and then double dipped me and my dental insurance. She is a SCAM and not an honest ethical dentist.

Came in for a tooth pull today, dentist was so sweet and wanted to make sure I was okay. We talked about math while she was pulling and helped me with my breathing for my anxiety. I did not feel a thing. Thank y’all so so much.

I am terrified of going to the dentist, but this place was so friendly and helpful :) they took their time explaining prices and what exactly they had to do and what I needed to do.
