Absolutely an amazing Office, truly felt welcomed as if I were apart of their family! Highly professional office. I am a new patient and recently had my teeth in the care of very talented & caring team. Mahalo’s to Dr Baxter, Angel, Ryssa, Tasha, Novara and the rest of the amazing staff!

I absolutely loved my experience with Dr. Baxter and Kahului Dental. Ashley was the best hygienist and everybody was very friendly. The office is very clean and presentable. They have all the equipment in there which makes it comfortable and very affordable. Form the beginning of my process Dr. Baxter called me in to get my x-rays and explained everything very thoroughly. Dr. Baxter helped me feel comfortable and not be scared about the procedure I was going to receive. The procedure was painless and Dr. Baxter gave me his cell phone number for any emergencies or questions I had. Before I called him he had a follow up call to check up on me which made me feel like he truly cared. He was always available when I called with questions and went out of his way to help me feel comfortable after the procedure.
I absolutely recommend Kahului Dental. They have amazing customer service and Dr. Baxter and his staff really know what they are doing, have amazing skills and are a family oriented business.

Dr. Baxter and his team are fantastic! From Rose at the front desk to the hygienists that clean your teeth, everyone is so awesome. They're also very tech savvy, so you can easily sign all your insurance forms, etc. on a touch screen! If you're looking for a great dental office, stop by Kahului Dental!

I am very happy I found Dr Baxter. Him and his staff are very friendly and helpful. I was able to get my teeth cleaned and shortly after I received a root canal the same day. I have past experiences of unsuccessful root canals. He made me feel reassured and comfortable during my rootcanal. He took the time to make sure it was done properly. I will only go to Dr Baxter for all my dental work and refer him.

Met Dr. Baxter today for the first time and he made such a Great First Impression. He was so Caring and Friendly. He made me feel so at ease with the upcoming procedures I have scheduled. Kahului Dental is the most affordable dentist i have been to here on Maui and I have seen many Dentists. The staff is kind and were always smiling. I am just so Grateful to finally find a Dental Office I love! I have full confidence they will take great care of me and my family.

I think I found my new favorite dentist!!! Dr Deborah Poole is so so skilled, kind, explains my options and the rationale clearly so that I can make informed decisions about my care, she actively follows up to discuss results of specialist referrals and ask me what I want to do next... I absolutely appreciate that respectful, professionalism and patient-centeredness. Also, incidentally, she has slender fingers that make it easy to get into the spaces in the back without pain for me!
Also, the whole team is so welcoming, respectful, engaging-- they made it a point to learn my name and make me feel like a valued client. The office has beautiful picture windows for viewing the treetops, blue sky and clouds... Mahalo nui to all of you, thank you so much!

As a former patient, I say BEWARE! He almost killed me. I had an impacted infected tooth. I couldn’t get them to pull it. They just would not do their jobs. I ended up septic, and spent $4,000 on emergency extraction on a Saturday. Don’t go here. If you value your life, find a dentist that will be there when you need them. He had one job and he blew it. Filing a lawsuit against him next. Jeeze what a screw up!

AVOID THIS DENTIST AT ALL COST. It’s a sad state of affairs that Maui has so few dentists to choose from, and that this one has the gall to treat their patients with such a lack of professionalism and utter disregard.
New to the island, I waited four months to get on schedule for a cleaning - with two different reschedules due to covid. Not once in those four separate conversations did they tell me I’d need new X-rays for a cleaning, or that their “standard of care” aka “how to extract the most money patients”, is to demand X-rays every year, and with every visit. They also, over the course of four phone calls, never told me that my dental records - which my last dentist sent twice - somehow hadn’t been received.
I arrived 15 minutes early to my appointment. The hygienist came out to get me and immediately brought me to the X-ray room. I explained that I just had X-rays 6 months ago, and was just there for a cleaning.
She took me by the arm and let me, like a scolded child, back to the front desk. Wha? Why did a hygienist feel ok to do this to a new patient?
There, the snippy receptionist told me that they wouldn’t see me until I had new X-rays. Reluctantly,
I agreed to another set of X-rays. (Two people in my bloodline have died from brain cancer so, as I gently shared with them, I take the exposure very seriously). Then the receptionist told me I couldn’t have the appointment, and that I needed to leave because I was being resistant to getting X-rays.
I said I didn’t understand, that I had just agreed to their X-ray policy. She told me I had to leave.
I then asked to speak to the owner. Surprise, no one was available.
Then, another person in their office (I don’t know if it was a patient or an employee) walked over, got right in my face, and threatened me, saying, “You need to leave or you’re going to have trouble.” Not a single person in the office said a thing. I looked at the receptionist, said, “this is crazy.” And asked one last time if I could just get my cleaning. She told me they would call security if I didn’t leave.
THE MOST FRIGHTENING PART… The same person, I imagine another hygienist, followed me into the elevator breathing down my neck and said she knows where I live, and she knows how to deal with bullies, and that I had better not step foot in the building again. I’ve never in my life been treated that way and can’t imagine what happens if you actually get time in the chair with these people.

Best Dental Office I have ever been too! I've never left the dentist feeling so happy. They don't want to waste your time or money and are prompt with their services. Dr. Baxter and Tara treated me like family and are genuinely good-hearted people. Honestly, I can't wait to go back!

I can see that Kahululi Dental has no lack of awesome reviews but I would also like to share my experience. I'm 42 and cannot possibly imagine anyone being as scared of the dentist as me. I had one super bad painful experience when i was young with a dentist and never went back. I've spent a life time neglecting my teeth and have payed a heavy price for that.
I decided to finally seek help because for years and years I just grin. I don't smile because I don't have one.. I just grin. I told my girlfriend that I want to smile on our wedding day especially for our pictures. So, as difficult as it may be, I'm determined to get my smile back. There is no other place I could imagine going then Kahului dental! I actually found them because I needed a tooth extraction and was completely amazed by Dr. Baxter! He not only has an excellent positive attitude and made me feel comfortable right away, he took the time to explain the procedures and answered all of my questions. He truly cares for each and every patient as if they were family.
Since then, I have returned for more x-rays, cleanings and exams and I'm equally struck by his staff, especially Angel. She has been working with me to clean my teeth and all I can say is WOW! Her name fits perfectly. She not only empathizes with where I'm at pain wise, she is so thoughtful and kind and really takes the time to make me feel relaxed. She can see me in a cold sweat fighting back my nervousness and just talks story to me and makes me laugh. She's also extremely knowledgeable at what she does and can articulate perfectly so I understand the process and what to expect. There's no other person I would want cleaning my teeth.
I've never seen healthcare like this before. I'd like to say thanks to the reception as well. Just try and call and make an appointment and you'll see just what I mean in seconds. These folks are absolute heroes! They should be an example for any medical/dental office on how to treat their patients. I've got a long way to go but I could never go anywhere else. Thank you so much!
