Superb dental care! Staff is courteous and kind and the cleanings are amazing. I had been struggling to find a dentist and was incredibly happy to get an appointment there. Dentist was professional and friendly and I walked out of there with my teeth feeling amazing.
They also take photos of your teeth and let you see any trouble areas! Being able to see my x-rays was pretty cool too.
I loved my dentist growing up, so I never thought I'd find one that lived up to the high bar they set but Coral West Dental VERY much did.

Had high hopes for this place, but was told by them, surprisingly, that my gums were bad and I needed a course of "deep-cleaning" periodontal treatment. They told me scary stories about bacterial slime under the gum line and bone loss. My previous dentist had never said anything like that, so I decided to get an opinion from another highly-rated Iowa City dentist, who said my gums were in great shape and I definitely did not need "deep cleaning" periodontal treatment. He had also heard from many others about Coral West's high-pressure sales tactics. Stick with an ethical dentist - or at least get a second opinion before agreeing to Coral West's insistence on frequent special gum procedures.

They are very nice people but simply not great at taking care of your teeth. I went there for over two years and hardly had my teeth cleaned. In addition, I was told I have gum disease but finally went to another dentist and was told my gums are great. This dentist is just trying to make money off of you and not take care of your teeth so they can make more money. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Been here three or four times now and every single time they are running late, at least 10-15 minutes late. Then it's usually an additional 10 minutes of sitting in the chair waiting for the hygienist to get situated or find their gear or I'm not even sure what. Last time I went I don't think anyone was in my mouth until 40 minutes after the supposed start time of my appointment. I also feel that they try to up-sell every possible treatment. The people are nice, and I feel like my teeth get taken care of, I just wish they could be on time and stop trying to sell my an antibiotic that my insurance doesn't cover. If I need one that bad prescribe something that insurance covers. If it wasn't such a hassle to switch dentists, I would.

I was very pleased with my first appointment at Coral West Dental. My hygienist was very thorough and explained everything to me in detail. They were able to give me estimates for additional services I needed and setup a payment plan right away for me as well! Dr. Rubel took his time with me during the appointment and I appreciated that immensely. I received a free zoom whitening service as a same day service for bringing the whole family along with me!!!

My wife and I absolutely love this place! We both have anxiety and have feared the dentist our entire lives.. The staff and Dr. Rubel are amazing! The mood of the wait room is very chill. We took our 7yo in for his first visit to get a filling replaced that had fallin out(previous dentist). His final assesment of his experience.. Stands up from the chair and says. "I love this place!" So there it is.. I recommend them to anyone who asks!!

Abby always does a fantastic job of cleaning my teeth. She always answers any questions I have, does a very thorough job, and is very gentle. My former hygienist at another office I used to go to would clean my teeth so aggressively that my eyes would water from the pain every time (and I don't have any issues with my gums). I've never felt uncomfortable once within the past 2 years I've been going to Coral West. Thanks for always doing a terrific job, Abby. And thanks to Dr. Rubel and Coral West for looking out for my health!

Great staff, very clean office, most thorough dental hygienist exam I've ever had. Evening hours are great and Dr Rubel will always get you in if you have a dental emergency. I've also had a good experience with teeth whitening through their office. Highly recommend!
