Coral West Dental

Most people do not "look forward" to visiting their dentist, but you will find this dental practice is totally different. The genuine care and attention that Dr. Rubel and his team provide will totally change your mind about that. I actually live in Oskaloosa, IA but I arrange my visits around travels to visit family in eastern Iowa. The office is conveniently located near Coral Ridge Mall with extended hours on certain days - even Saturday morning! If you are looking for a dental practice for the first time, or if you are thinking of making a change - you MUST consider Coral West Dental.

I believe the dental hygienist I saw was Courtney and she was awesome! I felt comfortable the whole time and I would highly recommend this place to anyone (especially if you feel anxious about going to the dentist).

Before getting into what made my new-patient appointment less than a five-star experience, I would like to say that Stephanie (hygienist) and Dr. Rubel were very thorough during the cleaning and exam, which I really appreciated. What was off-putting were the sales pitches and cross-marketing. The new patient form had two (three?) pages of questions for the associated Hawkeye Sleep Center in addition to the standard dental forms. The staff also made several pitches to me for their teeth whitening procedure (including someone coming in to take photos of me with a tooth a couple of shades whiter, which was awkward), and a suggestion of bonding for my front teeth to make them look straighter on the bottom. By the time it came to laying out the plan for products and services related to preventive measures/tooth and gum health, I was a bit wary about what was actually necessary vs. what was an up-sell. I do see how this place might be convenient if you are looking for a one-stop shop for sleep apnea, water pics, cosmetic dentistry, etc., but long story short: if you're looking for dentistry without the add-ons, this place will be a turn-off.

I recently had another Perio visit at CWD with Samantha. All went well. It is clear that the 2X daily use of Periogel with the trays is making a positive difference. I appreciate the great care given at CWD.

The entire staff at Coral West Dental is very kind and made my first visit easy and go by quick. The doctor is very informative and personable. I would definitely recommend them.

Love this place! They give great advice, do great work, and are very accommodating. Rebecca is so awesome! Dr. Rubel and the rest of the staff are all great too. They even play country music! I highly recommend them!

So I just have to say how much I love Dr. Rubel and his staff. This last Friday I woke up with excruciating tooth pain. I know the office is closed on Fridays, but I gave Dr. Rubel a text at like 4:30am, asking what I needed to do. He promptly texted back and knew exactly what tooth I was talking about. He helped and made me an appointment at an endodontist. Unfortunately, the tooth needed extracted and I ended up going to the college of dentistry for surgical removal. I texted Dr. Rubel throughout the day to keep him in the loop and he was always quick to respond. Yesterday, I called his office because the area is still giving me issues and he fit me in the schedule and gave me another text telling me what the appointment will probably entail. I feel so much better today after his treatment. I just love the attention and care he and his staff give. They are always so happy to see me and always put a smile on my face. I definitely recommend this office to EVERYONE!!

I love Coral West Dental. They are low pressure, friendly and realize you're not perfect. It's the only dental office I've ever felt comfortable going to. I appreciate that a lot!

Extremely friendly and prompt staff. The doctor was also very thorough when explaining my cavities and wisdom teeth. Best dental experience I've had.
