Rude receptionist. Dentist was great, but receptionist seems very put out by every interaction and won't acknowledge you unless he is forced. And a bit slow due to working on more than 1 patient at a time.

Went in for my appointment and was very satisfied. The entire staff is very friendly and caring. The Dr is amazing! She did my exam and they explained everything that they were doing and explained what I needed done. I couldn't of asked for a better dentist. She has years of experience and wants whats best for her patients. I would recommend this place to everyone! Thank you A1 Iowa Dental in Urbandale for everything! I will be coming back for anything else I need done.

I saw someone post about an 8am appointment. I asked the hours and they open at 830am.

Horrible dental office! Dont let the appearance fool you! Looks clean and nice but staff is rude and dentists do terrible work. Came in for a root canal and crown. A week later my tooth abscessed. Went to another dentist, and he was shocked by the terrible job they did and wasn't surprised at all the tooth abscessed! Now I need a dental implant because of the work a1 did. Stay away from this dental office if you want to keep your teeth! Also worst teeth cleaning I have ever recieved probably lasted 5 minutes!

This review is mainly for Urbandale clinic. Wish I could have read all the reviews before making a decision to schdule an appointment here. The staff here are extremely rude and behaves like they are doing some thing for free, We feel the difference greatly when compares with other dental clinics here. They don't care people's time. While going through all the reviews for this place, reading a lot of negative comments and seeing frustrated minds. Wondering why the management is not doing something to improve this place. This is the worst dental clinic in iowa. Very rude people. Why should I give a 1 star rating. I only have negative rating for this place.

Worst dental place ever. I have been coming here for over a year and because i have 2 special needs children, and my youngest one being blind and gets sick if you breath on him wrong (not joking) i have often called before my appointment a few hours and never got charged any extra fees. Now within the last couple weeks if i cancel my appointment the morning of my appointment they try to charge me 50.00. I dont think so. And lets not mention the RUDE part. The staff members and office manager are rude. They dont care if something comes up. Apparently they have easy not busy lifes. Save your self the headache. DO NOT GO HERE EVER.

I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. I had high hopes when I met the staff, because they were seemed happy, and definitely very professional. Even so, I was dreading the actual work - I have fibromyalgia and it makes me incredibly sensitive to pain.
But now I'm actually looking forward to my next visit!

Long wait, an hour pass my appointment time. When I got seen they was rough with my mouth. And for a first time patient I didn’t feel welcomed at all. I would recommend this dentist even if it was the last dentist on the earth.

Never again will I go back there! Was only there one time and the dentist was very rough on cleaning my teeth. She didnt take the time to polish my teeth correctly. Just dragged the polisher across my teeth. The dentist didnt have any care that she was hurting me while doing it. Do not recommend this place at all!!

Horrible cleaning teeth here. Blood all over my mouth while and after the cleaning. Bad crown ever. Dentist is not nice, can’t say bad enough about this place here. Never come back again!

KEEP YOUR FAMILY AWAY FROM A-1 IOWA DENTAL ON HICKMAN IN URBANDALE!
When I came in for a filling, my dentist (Dr. Ayoki) blamed me for being in pain when the Novocain wasn't working. She said "I shouldn't have waited so long" to come in. She then continued drilling which caused pain to the point that I was seizing up in my chair. After the intervention of her assistant she begrudgingly gave me more Novocaine. I was a welder for twelve years so I am very accustomed to pain, and let me tell you, this was brutal. She got physical with her assistant by actually slapping her hand away when she was doing something the dentist apparently didn't like. When her assistant adjusted the light, which was not in the way, she hit the light so hard she sent it swinging 3 feet in the other direction. She was rude to her assistant the entire time. After all that I now have serious pain in the upper filling. Every time I chew food, take a drink, or breathe deeply it feels like I am getting shocked in the jaw. I contacted the Ankeny location yesterday in hopes they would help me and they said I would have to wait until mid April to be seen: 6 weeks. They did not care that one of their locations is responsible for my current pain, the unpleasant experience, or of the maltreatment of one of their employees. Keep your loved ones away from this place and away from Dr. Ayoki!!!
