Every visit to Exceptional Dentistry is a enjoyable one. The staff treat you like your part of their family. I have been going to see Dr. Carroll for over 20 years. He is the best dentist. His calming voice makes you feel safe during any procedure.

staff is always courteous yet pleasant in their meet and greet approach with clients. They are responsive to questions. The only thing I would suggest that they improve is the way I was dismissed -- and that's what it felt like, like I was being dismissed. Just some feedback.

Dr. Carroll is the absolute best! He has been our family's dentist for years. He's trustworthy, skilled, and very personable. Great staff, convenient location, and beyond exceptional service! I gladly give my highest recommendation.

I recently moved to the area and was searching for a dental office that focused on high quality patient care utilizing the latest technology and I found that in Exceptional Dentistry! Everyone including front office staff, my hygienist, and both Dr. Shoemaker and Dr. Carroll were absolutely wonderful. My cleaning experience and assistance with teeth whitening couldn’t have been better. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a dentist.

I have been to Exceptional Dentistry for several years, with regular dental checkups every four to six months. During that time I have seen a couple of outstanding dental hygienists. However, several months ago I had the worst dental experience with this dental practice.

I had a cavity that went undetected for a while and needed to be filled. The dental assistant who did the filling was apparently still in the learning process because I overheard behind me the dentist instructing her on the procedure and how to approach this type of filling. Needless to say, the filling failed.

For about three months, I felt a dull ache on that tooth that turned into a throbbing pain. I then called the office and was told bluntly by the front desk lady to either have a root canal or a tooth extraction, for which I would have to go to an oral surgeon. I asked for some references and was given two names. One was booked and the other one could not see me soon enough. I finally found an oral surgeon, but, to my surprise, I learned that he could not use the “bite-wing” I gave him from Exceptional Dentistry. It was useless. The surgeon needed an x-ray of the whole tooth to do oral surgery.

Later, I went back for teeth cleaning. I had the same dental assistant but did not let her finish with the cleaning to prevent her from further damaging my teeth. One more thing,
on that same visit and unbeknownst to me I saw a different dentist who was not in my insurance network. This meant I would have to pay more out of pocket for services rendered. The dentist, seeing my missing molar and aware that I just recently lost it asked me if I had thought about having dental implant. How about that?

They got me in very quickly, my exam and cleaning didn’t take more than an hour. They handled insurance very efficiently. Dana, my hygienist was very professional, kind, listened to what I was saying, and asked all my questions (me being naturally curious). Everybody was very pleasant and welcoming. This is will be my dentist as long as I’m in Louisville!

I have been a patient of Dr. Carroll's for a long time and I recommend him to anyone. Dr. Carroll has a way of making you feel like you are his only patient. He takes care of you like you are part his family. His staff is very friendly and they make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. Dr. Carroll will make sure that you are comfortable throughout the whole visit and explains everything he is doing or that needs to be done. He genuinely cares about you and your teeth. He treats your teeth like they were his own. I would not go anywhere else for dental care. I use to drive from Indiana to see him. Trust me, your teeth will thank you every six months if he is your dentist! When I leave the office I always feel like I have been taken cared of by the BEST dentist in Louisville - True Story. :)

Love Dr. Carroll. My dentist retired and I was so worried about finding another one that I liked.
But I have found a great one with Dr. Carroll. He doesn’t do anything unnecessary, but also explains in detail if a tooth needs to be fixed.
And the staff is awesome too.
I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

I went to Dr. Carroll to get veneers and had a great experience. I have been wanting veneers for over 10 years, but was worried about the process and whether or not they would turn out the way I had envisioned. Previously I had gotten braces and tried bleaching them numerous times, but I still wasn't happy with the way my teeth looked. So I decided to finally take the plunge and get veneers. I researched many offices around town, and was the most impressed with Dr. Carroll's before/after photos because they looked the most natural in my opinion.

The whole process took only 3 appointments and I couldn't be happier with the way they turned out. There was no pain involved and all of the staff were so friendly, they made the process much more comfortable. If you're considering veneers, I would definitely recommend Dr. Carroll. He takes all of your concerns and customizes your smile to fit that. It's not a one-size-fits-all approach. I got exactly what I wanted and I am very pleased with everything!
