Staff is so helpful and friendly! I usually am not a fan of going to the dentist but they all made me feel calm and relaxed! This will definitely be my dentist office of choice from now on! My teeth have never felt more clean šŸ˜

I needed a new dentist that would take my Met life insurance.

The office is well equipped but the staff are trained to upsell you every step of the way. This happened twice, once with a needed crown, second time when they told me I had gum disease and needed a $1000+ laser treatment with some special chemicals.

They pull a high tech screen right over to the dental chair to show you their treatment plan, but only reveal the highest cost choice. I had to ask both times to see the less expensive treatment, for which my insurance would pay.

The dentist berated the office manager about having my teeth cleaned when she had already sold me on coming back for and paying for "root planing".

When my new insurance plan would pay for me to go back to health partners, I did and they said I had some gum recession but nothing unusual for my age. They disagreed about gum disease and said this was likely an attempt to classify me as a "periodontal patient" so they could charge the insurance company more for any future visits and cleanings.

Avoid this place. High pressure sales. Additional cost to you and your insurance plan.

By the way, this office is part of a large chain. Right after my review was posted (and after their office was closed) the automated reply that they use with every dissatisfied review showed up in my email and below. They obviously monitor Google reviews. But saying that they care in a reply here is *not* the same as showing it in the treatment of their patients. Buyer beware.

Wonderful service. The receptionist explained my payment before the beginning of service. The dentists were very patient with me as well. Very clean and nice calming atmosphere.

I went here in June because I had a cavity fall out of my back molar. I came back a week later to get a crown put on but no root canal was done. After a month of sensitivity to the crown I went back to have it looked at and was told to come back in another month to have it re examined. I was supposed to go today for that appointment prior to going I called and asked how much I would be paying for the root canal and was told no root canal was gonna be done. They were just gonna exam again and I would have to schedule a 3rd appointment for a root canal. A hour after I called they called me back and told me I didn't need to be seen and they could get me in in another month for a root canal. Wait what?? So now you don't even want to exam the crown what if I have a infection?? You don't care. More concerned about money. I paid in full for the crown on my first visit prior to even having the procedure done. If that wasn't a red flag then. Please go else where.they really are only concerned about making money and not the patients needs.

I'm a very paranoid/scared person when it comes to dental work. The staff here we're patient with me, kind and supportive. I'm really happy to have found this office!

Went here for a root canal and went home five hours later with a lip injury. They very obviously drilled into my lip when I was still numb and called it a ā€œlittle cut.ā€ The assistant was in and out of the room the entire time and the dentist was clearly in a hurry, reaching over me for tools. They put gauze on the cut and left me in the room alone. At one point I was walking around the hallway with blood pouring from my lip, all over the floor and my clothes, looking for someone to take care of it. My appointment was at noon and I left after 5pm with a prescription for ibuprofen. I drove home 15 minutes and starting bleeding as soon as I walked through the door. This continued to happen until 10pm but I didnā€™t want to go to urgent care since I donā€™t have insurance. This was my one day off of work for the week and I had to go into urgent care (and miss work) the next day. I was told it looked infected already and was given antibiotics. Iā€™m now left with more bills than before. Clearly Columbia heights dentistry values money over proper care. I understand mistakes may happen but being treated poorly as well is completely incomprehensible. Now I understand why people have a fear of the dentist.

I used to really like this place. However, my last few exams over the last year went terribly. A couple months after a cleaning in the fall, I had a cavity so bad I needed a root canal. It should have been caught. A week after my most previous cleaning/exam, I might need another one. I went to a different dentist office for a second opinion and it looks like I have several stains and cavities that had to have been either deliberately ignored or a consequence of negligence. There are dark spots even I, the patient, noticed. Why go for a checkup every 4-6 months if they aren't actually checking anything? It's a huge breach in trust and it's insanely costly.
