They got me in and got me taken care of quickly.

Called the 24 hour number at 8pm for an urgent appointment to look at a painful tooth. They scheduled me for an 8AM appointment the next day and had me in and out within 2 hours. Great experience with Dr. Lim and Kelly. They gave me an honest assessment and referred me to a local specialist to take care of the problem. I would recommend Aspen Dental - Rochester to anyone in need of a dentist.

Everyone at Aspen Dental was so kind and explained everything in great detail what was going to happen. They also explained all of the dental jargon as they went. Ha ha. Thank you so much for every thing!

Let me start off by saying that Dr. Hicks is PHENOMENAL! To preface this review, I have had a lifelong phobia of dentists and hadn’t been to a dentist in roughly 10 years (yikes). I finally took the plunge and scheduled an appointment. I was absolutely terrified, but Dr. Hicks and everyone else on staff were great at putting me at ease and making sure I was doing well throughout my first appointment. (I had actually pushed out my first appt a couple times because I was just so scared). As I had expected, there was a significant amount of dental work that needed to be done and my fear came flooding back when I was told that I need to have a few extractions/fillings. Jumping forward to the subsequent three appointments where I got extractions, a full mouth deep cleaning, and fillings - the level of care that I received was unmatched. The deep cleaning made my mouth feel cleaner that it has in years. Dr. Hicks and Alan kept me engaged throughout the extractions/filling procedures with fun conversation as well as music (Alan’s playlist is full of bops, by the way - LOVED it!). They constantly made sure that I was comfortable and not in pain during the whole process. Even my sister & parents who are well aware of my phobia noticed that after my first extraction appt, I was significantly more calm prior to the subsequent appts. I absolutely recommend Dr. Hicks! Apart from a lively personality and being caring about her patients, she did a fantastic job on my teeth and they look AMAZING. I’ve been afraid to smile for the better part of a decade and when I came home after my appointment yesterday, I was thrilled with the results!

Thanks, Dr. Hicks and everyone at Rochester Aspen Dental! Thank you for answering my questions in detail (there were a LOT) and for being so accommodating with all my schedule changes. Your professionalism and compassion is very much appreciated. :)

I see these commercials on TV saying how great the place was I just wanted to let you know that I wanted to get my teeth cleaned and had x-rays and said that I had cavities so before they clean my teeth they worked on my cavities which I thought was pretty odd every dentist I’ve been at cleans your teeth before they work on your cavities and then they said they couldn’t clean my teeth till I had some other work done like some crowns so when you don’t feel right about the place you go somewhere else to get your teeth cleaned and it’s been 2 to 3 years since I’ve been there and still don’t need any crowns and they wanted upfront money before they worked on anything

I called Aspen Dental for a check up appointment as my dental insurance was soon to expire and the dentist I had been using had no room on their calendar to see me.. I was able to get in at Aspen the day after I called. Aspen had mouth X-rays from my previous dentist sent to their office. Dr. Nye, one of the dentists at Aspen, noticed a cavity in one of my teeth. after reviewing the X-rays. I was able to get in to have the cavity filled the next day. Dr. Nye and the rest of the staff at Aspen were thorough, professional, and pleasant. I think I've just found my new dentist!

0 stars.

I visited Aspen dental in St. Cloud, Minnesota in July for a broken tooth. I was in between dentists and decided to give this place a try as they were able to see me the same week.

On the day of my appointment, I was immediately taken to xrays. I equipment was uncomfortable and too large for my jaw. After several failed attempts, the technician brought in another staff member to help. Both of them ignored me saying that it was painful and kept prodding even though I was in tears from gagging.

Was taken back in the room. Did not tell me what was going on and then proceeded to poke each of my gums while yelling out numbers in rapid succession. Pushed harder then needed (I've had my gums examined at several other dentists and have never had it done this way). I was told I had gum disease and would need expensive gum treatments and for my gums to be scaled/planed.

Dentist came in and was very friendly and understanding. After spending less than a minute glancing at my mouth, he told me I needed two root canals, gum planing, cavities filled, and I had an infected tooth. Showed me my xrays and then the technicians rushed me out so I could meet with the office manager. In total, they spent maybe five minutes with me.

Office manager was polite and went over the cost for the work I needed done. The bill came to four thousand dollars AFTER insurance. I was shocked and understandably upset. She went over some options I had to pay for the procedures but didn't seem to understand why I wasn't able to throw down four thousand dollars then and there. She also tried to sell me an expensive toothbrush as part of my "care plan." It felt very pushy and sales oriented. I left without scheduling any future appointments as I did not know when I would have the money.

After talking to a few family members, they urged me to get a second opinion. Turns out I don't need two root canals, I don't have an infected tooth, and don't have gum disease. Estimated work with my other dentist after insurance will less than a thousand dollars.

I will never go to the dentist again and have warned all of my friends and family. I took two hours off work AND my insurance was billed for an exam (which lasted less than two minutes total). They were more concerned with making money than actually helping. Worst dental experience ever.

I do wonder about the professionalism of some dentist and the assistants. As I was getting a feeling, I was told to request a certain numbing meds (lidocaine, I believe) when requested the assistant looked at me and then said, “well I already have this one out” once I told the dentist completing my feeling, the assistant then looked at the dentist and said, “should I get the one she requested or is this fine?” (THIS IS NOT OKAY!) throughout getting my feeling, the dentist and the assistant were talking about the poor with ethics of other dentist that were on staff at Aspen (THIS IS ALSO NOT OKAY). I felt unheard while speaking with the assistant helping the dentist.

The staff was very kind and thorough. I had an abscess so they were quick to get done, what needed to be done. My complaints are, I was in terrible pain from the abscess and was told pain medication wouldn't help. That is the craziest thing I have ever heard. I was finally given some medicine, 5 pills, after begging. I understand we are having an opiate epidemic but does that mean you neglect to treat those who are really in need? I am supposed to be getting a root canal and I am afraid if something happens and I have terrible pain, I will not be able to get anything for the pain. I never want to experience that terrible pain in my mouth again, period!
