James River Dental, Derek R Kaelin DDS and Associates

I am withdrawing my Great experience with James River Dental, I hope everyone that believes in them, that is Great for you 😀 but, I have called about just cleaning appts around my implants and still, not a word from anyone, so I have lost all my Faith and Trust in them. Like I said for you that believe in them, that is wonderful news! But, I no Longer believe a word they say! Because I simply can't remember if they made cleaning apps for around my implants and I am still waiting on someone to call me and let me know!! I no longer am willing to believe or recommend James River Dental, especially after I spent the amount of money I spent, I am beyond disappointed and hurt 😢!!!!

Always a great experience here and I have been going here for 5 years. They made time to get me in when needed and staff is always so friendly and helpful. I always recommend to friend looking for a new dentist.

The entire team is consistently friendly, caring, and professional. Johnene is pleasant and attentive, completing each visit efficiently but thoroughly. Our family have been patients of Dr. Kaelin for over 2 decades - confidently recommend them for your dental care needs.

So clean and friendly! My daughter says she loves the smell of the dentist! That’s a good sign. Johnene and Charlie are amazing - gentle yet thorough. And Dr Kaelin is great! Lots of good tips and advice. I went to another dentist for 18 years, and I wish I had known about this office sooner! No comparison! And maybe I’ve just been lucky so far, but I’ve never had to wait too long for my cleaning or for the dentist. Efficient and clean! I love this place. Definitely recommend!!

My dental was with their lab they are using for repairs. I had a crack in my false teeth they changed me200 dollars and they cracked again 2 months later paid another 200 dollars not more than 4weeks later they cracked again. After the 2nd time they said the lab dose not warranty the work. Feel like I just wanted to say Feel like I have been ripped off!

Dr. Kaelin is an expert dentist. He is very knowledgeable and able to help with a variety of issues. He can make crowns in-house while you wait. They make you very comfortable during procedures. Shana, one of the dental assistants is very helpful and returns my calls quickly. All of the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend James River Dental for everything from cleanings to fillings to crowns.

I was new to this office because of a dental emergency. The ladies were so nice and able to get me right in. Shana and Dr Kaelin took great care of me!! I wanted to come back a few more times to make sure the office as awesome as it seemed. It definitely is!!! I have had less than stellar experiences over the last few years, but Dr Kaelin is very good at what he does and much cheaper than my last couple offices.
So happy that I happened across this office by accident. I have never been to a dentist office that had such a fun “team” atmosphere. I can tell they all love what they do. Shana is always wonderful and makes me feel totally relaxed. She takes great care in explaining everything to me when I ask an extreme amount of questions. :)

Really glad I found such a great dentist. I switched myself and my kids over to this dentist a couple of years ago and they have been really wonderful. They care and take the time to make sure your comfortable as possible during all your procedures. My kids really have a great experience here too and makes it easier for trips to the dentist. Also really loved his assistant Jenny! She was super sweet and really kept my informed of everything while I was there.

Derek Kaelin is wonderful, he makes great conversation (super funny) and tries to make the best out of what can be a not so fun experience. He was efficient and made me as comfortable as possible. Now, let's talk about his assistant Nicole, this woman is wonderful... she went over my dental plan very thoroughly and was so sweet and thoughtful. She offered a blanket when she knew I'd be cold and made sure I was okay all through the procedure, there was a great flow of conversation and explanation of everything that was being done and why... seriously she is the sweetest. Not a lot of people can say they enjoy going to the dentist, but this team definitely made that possible. Thanks so much!

Best experience I've ever had with a dentist. Would highly reccomend Dr Kaelin. Shana his dental assistant was exceptional as well, very personable and made me feel very comfortable throughout some extensive dental work. Thank you so much for fixing my smile!
