Best Care Dental - Dr. Maryana Kirolos

Best Care Dental was a disaster for me. Upon arriving, I was sold an "treatment plan" that happened to use up the bulk of my dental insurance. Dr. Kirolos suggested that my previous dentist had not done a good job. (I had regular 6 month cleanings for years, no gum problems, or decay in recent years). In addition, the technician was completely inappropriate, sharing her personal details with me, unsolicited. The whole experience was uncomfortable, unprofessional and very aggressive on the 'sales pitch'. This seems more like hardcore sales than a dental practice. One visit was it for me.

I've been to many dentists in my life, but Best Care Dental is easily the best I've ever been to. Everyone is polite and kind, from the people in the front desk to the dental hygienist to Dr. Kirolos. Professional and courteous, you will feel at ease the moment you walk in to when you leave, secure in the knowledge that they have earned their name by providing the best dental care in the city. Highly recommended!

They fit me in after a tooth emergency. So kind and accommodating. Got the crown same afternoon. Definitely recommend.

I had a wonderful experience, Dr. Kirolos is an amazing dentist, she pays attention to fine details, passionate about her work & understands the patients’ fear.
I had a smile reconstruction that improved my look & dental health. So happy I found a dental home. Coming back for my recare & recommending this place to all.

**I would like to first say that these 5-star ratings are highly biased, as Dr. Kirolos offers a Starbucks gift card to anyone who gives a 5-start rating while in the office and then shows it to the front desk staff. So take each and every one with a big grain of salt.**

I went in for Six Month Smiles, and while those in themselves were fine, I was incredibly unimpressed with Dr. Kirolos and this facility, for MANY reasons. The biggest issues:

1) At one point early in my treatment she left town for a week or so--without letting patients know, and with no other dentists in the practice, there was no one to cover for her. As luck would have it, one of the bands popped off during this time, as did two of the brackets. Not only did this set my treatment back, but it was incredibly painful to have loose wires and brackets scratching up my mouth. I ended up having to go to another dentist just to have it cleaned up enough that my mouth wasn't bleeding all the time. When she returned I received a mumbled apology and a strong reprimand that I had let another dentist touch her work.

2) After the braces were removed, she put in permanent retainers on the top and bottom teeth--great, except that they kept coming off--I was quite literally there once every week or ten days getting a new retainer put in. It was absolutely ridiculous--the frustration of that, the interruption to my work schedule to fit these visits in, and just in general the inordinate amount of time I spent there getting something fixed that is designed to last years at least.

I would not recommend this place to anyone, regardless of what kind of work they need to get done. I have never had such a terrible experience, and I won't even go back just to get my teeth cleaned.

Dr. Kirolos's Clayton office is cramped and untidy. The staff seem to be constantly talking among themselves. I did not get a good feeling.

I had a broken tooth that was replaced with a crown, and I was generally satisfied although I thought the Dr. had an abrupt and impatient way with her staff.

At the first I was told I needed ONE recrown because there was decay underneath. I scheduled a scaling and cleaning, and at the end of that was told I needed TWO new crowns. I could never get a clear idea which crowns these were. I was told that a porcelain crown was fine, but then all of a sudden it needed replacing.

Then when I came back for the first recrown, I was told that the tooth in front of it needed a filling!

"Filling? Nobody said anything about a filling."

"Well, we had a meeting this morning and the doctor feels that tooth needs to be stabilized before we can crown it."

I had not been informed at any of my two visits that there were any teeth that needed filling.

THEN I'm told that I need TWO fillings next to the other crown!

I said I didn't like these things being sprung on me right before I am getting a procedure.

"Well, it's your choice," said the office manager.

"It's either necessary or not," I said, and paid an appointment-cancellation fee that I wish I had not paid. I said they hadn't been straightforward with me and that a policy of revealing a treatment plan "a little bit at a time" was not something I would go along with.

I scheduled a consultation with a long-time friend with 42 years of experience as a dentist and a very high rating in his state. He reviewed the x-rays from Dr. Kirolos's office and did an exam.

My crowns are all in good shape. What she called decay was actually an intact filling. There was no need to fill either two around the other crown that also did not need replacing. I had ONE damaged filling that Dr. Kirolos did NOT detect, and he filled it.

I want to emphasize that Dr. Kirolos was proposing nearly $4,000 in dental work, and DID NOT DETECT THE DAMAGED REAR MOLAR FILLING.

My other dentist's bill was less than ten percent of what Dr. Kirolos was proposing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST.

I was nervous and scared but Ms.Kirolos made sure i felt safe and calm. I even started crying and she stopped to make sure that I was ok and the procedure was fast

They were amazing ! Especially for my first time. I needed an emergency tooth extraction & no one else was available but right when i made the call to them, They were able to see me. I love it here already !

I had dental instruction today under Dr. Kirolos, and I can say I had best ever experience, didn’t feel pain at all . Very happy with the procedure. All staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks to all of you.
