I highly recommend Dr. Schmidt and Plaza Health Dentistry. I appreciate the fact that I’m shown my X-rays, and what I’m looking at is explained to me, so I understand why a particular treatment plan may be put into place. I’m always treated with kindness, everything runs on time and the financial aspect is explained to me, all my questions answered. The staff offered to have me call them when I have my new dental insurance plan options, so that they can help me choose the best option for the care that I need/will need. For me, that’s major!

I am so glad I was introduced to my new dentist Dr. Nicole Schmidt and all of the professionals that she is surrounded by.
I was especially impressed with the things never introduced to me before when it comes the oral health screening. Take for instance screening for oral cancer.
The equipment is high end. The place is clean and comfortable wit a very relaxing atmosphere and the feels like it has a class of it's own.

When I researched Plaza Health Dentistry and decided to become a patient, it was with the dentist who previously owned the business. I was attracted to their "health concept" and Nomad machine used for patient x-rays. I thought I had found a holistic dentist, which is what I prefer.
My first visit with Dr. Schmidt was a surprise. I came in for a routine cleaning, and after 2 yrs. of consistently having the same hygienist, realized the previous doctor no longer was practicing and sold his business to her. Dr. Schmidt and her hygienist would be examining my teeth and a doing my cleaning. Her hygienist was extremely rough and prodded the instrument deep into my gums. In fact, so deep I was very uncomfortable. I have had exams and cleaning over 30 years and have never come across a hygienist so aggressive. She then proceeded to tell me I needed a deep cleaning (scaling treatment) that would be $300 for half of my mouth. I was shocked. For one, I routinely come in evey 3-months for cleaning and have always been told I take excellent care of my gums and my teeth. Who was this stranger claiming my teeth and gums had numerous "5's" and insisted I needed this procedure? One I did not schedule nor agree to have? After lengthy conversation, I told them I wanted my scheduled appointment for cleaning my teeth and nothing more.
I called to register a complaint, and the receptionist was very dismissive and rude indicating to me they didn't care if I left unhappy. I then asked my records to be sent to me. I don't want to patronize an establishment that doesn't care about their patients.
I started oil-pulling (a concept the previous doctor was aware of) and went back to my previous dentist 6 weeks later. Upon examining my teeth, they told me I had no 5's whatsoever, only 3's and no scaling treatment was necessary to perform.
I'm glad I followed my intuition and found another dentist. The expensive scaling procedure the insisted I need, was not necessary at all. No integrity.
