This place is completely unprofessional and the majority of the time i called i talked to several receptionist who were very rude and unkind until i stood my ground. If you don’t like assisting people than maybe you need to think about entering another field. When COVID came about they canceled a scheduled appointment and never sent any papers in the mail forwarding any info i could utilize to schedule a new appointment. So that went in my files as a no call no show. I’ve been with St. Peter’s for about 5 years and missed about 5 appointments over those 5 years but I’ve always rescheduled. Once again i received no reminders in the mail to give a 24HR advance notice if you need to cancel a appointment / reschedule. One of the rude receptionist told me it was in my medical records i have no records given to me by this establishment stating such a thing. The only time i remember them sending that kind of information out with me is when i first became a patient & the only reason i remembered that is because i refreshed my mind of all the paperwork i had to fill out the day i became a patient 5 years ago. I’m big on communication and organization and professional which this establishment truly hasn’t upheld. I scheduled a new appointment recently and called two days in advance to confirm the time and date. Nobody ever got back to me even when i called early in the morning and after their lunch. I feel like my call was intentionally ignored. I was recently dropped as a patient after nobody ever got back to me regarding my appointment. That is okay because i took the liberty in finding a new dental establishment after i had several bad experiences talking to these receptionist. They are way more professional and organized and don’t mind assisting their patients and getting back to them ON TIME. This isn’t in any way to bash them but honestly maybe it was better i didn’t go in to the for their assistance. Who knows what other problems i could’ve experienced. Smh

While the dentist was satisfactory, everything else related to my experience was terrible. They sent me a bill for my checkup nearly 3-years after it happened and they seem committed towards falsely charging me their out of network rate. Communicating with them seems to be deliberately difficult, particular after my insurance company paid them. Dealing with St. Peters is not worth the headache.

So many issues. The receptionists are never helpful. Very sassy. No personality to them at all. Very rude at times. Had an appointment for my boyfriend in March. We had to reschedule it. They have cancelled appointments on him and never called to tell. We found out about one being cancelled by the Rensselaer office. He had a root canal started, never finished. Every appointment there is issues. We got a card stating it was at 10:30. Get there and they say it was at 9:30. But they called and left a voicemail saying it was at 12:30. Nothing is ever right with the timing. And then every time we get seen, his root canal never gets done. He has had multiple infections due to the root canal being started but never finished. Final straw, we get here this morning for an appointment that was made in August and they say there isn’t appointment for him here. Absolutely ridiculous. Worst office I’ve been too.

They called and canceled my appointment and rescheduled for over 5 months after this. She was very rude when I explained there was an issue and needed to be seen. She responded that's the soonest, we could male it later.

St. Peters dental clinic is terrible. First of all getting an appointment takes months and when I had to reschedule they could get me in for 4 months. I have a prescription toothpaste from them and it took many phone calls and over a month for them to refill it. I have gone there for the past 2 years a have developed many cavities since I started receiving my dental care from them. They have neglected to tell me a lot of important information. I feel like they are only interested in filling cavities and not preventing them. First they did not tell me that sealants wear off and that they can be put on again. It is my understanding that sealants are not covered by insurance for adults. I think that it is ridiculous that just because they are not covered by insurance they were not even offered to me because I would have paid out of pocket and they would have probably prevented many cavities. After I found out sealants are an option they said I could get them but because they didn't tell me two years when I had only had one cavity in my life now I can only get one sealant done because once you have cavities in a tooth you can't get them anymore.I have been asking the dentists every time I go what I can do to prevent getting more cavities. The first few times they just told me that I was doing what I was supposed to by brushing and flossing and sometimes as you get older you develop cavities. I have recently found out this is not true and their are many things they could have done to help me prevent cavities. They did not even suggest using an over the counter mouth wash until I begged the hygienist for some advice on how to prevent cavities. They finally prescribed me a high fluoride toothpaste but they neglected to tell me that I was not supposed to use it according to the directions. Apparently the dentist does not recommend you rinse you mouth after using the toothpaste but they never informed of this before I filled the prescription so I used it incorrectly for 8 months and developed 2 more cavities. The only reason I found out about the sealants was because I cried to the the hygienist and she said that she had sealants put on her teeth because she had deep pit not because they offered them to me. I also just recently found out that fluoride treatments can reduce the likelihood of cavities by looking it up on the internet not because St. Peters Dental offered them to me. I called today to inquire about getting a fluoride treatment and asked why I had not been offered it in the past and the girl that answered said she did not know what my PROBLEM was and she would have someone call me back. They did not call today and I know from past experience that they probably will not call me back. Most of the time when I call I get a message that says all of their scheduling staff are busy and to leave a message and they will call back but usually they don't. One time they cancelled my appointment on me the day before and to reschedule I had to go to the office because they never answered their phone or called back. Another time they said they could not schedule my six month at the time because they were getting new computers and would call me. They didn't call me and by the time I was able to get a hold of them it was a least 8 months between appointments. My advice is don't go here!

You have to personally take a very active roll in the "administrative" aspects of working with this dental clinic. Don't rely on them to remember what you need, or to call you when something is pending. If you need an appointment, don't stop calling until you have it. Or if you can drop by in person, that would be even more productive. But please don't yell at the staff at the desk, they really are doing the best they can with what they have. If there is an oversight on your bill, you have to call the billing office every time, and just methodically, very business-like let them know what needs to be done. If you can do this, then everything, in the end will be ok. I have never "not gotten" what I needed but it is a lot of work and time on the phone to get it. The administrative staff at the desk have always been courteous and caring with me but it seems they are consistently overworked. Once you get in the door and sit down with the actual clinical dental staff, they do an awesome job, they are friendly, kind and conscientious about your individual needs and have never "looked down on me" when I needed something explained not twice but three times. I've had some complicated stuff done with my teeth, all the materials and work is very good. If your insurance is as restricted as mine and you have the ability to follow up on the paperwork; I highly recommend this clinic. If your insurance allows for a different venue, I recommend (administratively at least) going somewhere else.

Horrible clinic. I’m surprised St. Peter’s hasn’t shut this place down. Scheduling issues, rude receptionists, X-rays misplaced and dental pa’s that are just thrown into the mix of chaos.
I would not recommend this place.

The doctors at St Peter's Dental are super good in helping my 30 year old disabled son. The receptionist, however, is a whole nother issue. Snippy is too good a word for her. I actually get trepidation calling into the office because of her testiness. So because of that i'm going to give them a 4 star rating. Just don't take the rudeness and attitude of the office staff personally.

Can't even get an appointment. Was told this is the only place that takes Medicaid in the area but they cant even book you. Was told the wait list for new clients was backed until October then was told I needed to go to the hospital cause I was in pain to get a referral. Got the referral and called at 830 like they told me to. Receptionist said computers were down conveniently. And that all the spots were filled yesterday when I was assured the only way to do It was to call.

I'll start off by saying, that I will NEVER return to this dental facility again and it was a mistake going there in the first place. Back in May I made an emergency appointment (which apparently they don't accept anymore), for a cracked molar. Instead of working on the problem tooth, I had a regular cleaning, x-rays, the whole nine yards. Another appointment was made to actually focus on the tooth, three weeks later (earliest appointment available). That appointment was going smooth until it was decided that I needed a root canal performed and they couldnt proceed any further until they obtained prior authorization from my insurance company. "Ok, no problem" I thought....big mistake on my part. July came around and still no word on prior authorization status. I called my insurance company, they tell me they have not received any requests from St. Peter's, and that the procedure doesn't need prior authorization. I call St. Peter's to tell them about what my insurance said and was told I have to wait until the prior authorization comes thru. Eventually, a prior authorization comes through (wrong tooth number was submitted via St. Peter's to my insurance company in August (2 months after needing prior authorization sent out)) and I can finally make an appointment to continue with the root canal. By the way, it is now October. OCTOBER, 5 MONTHS LATER!!! Have my appointment, procedure can only proceed part way due to the dentist finding an infection in the tooth (who would've thought having a temporary filling (told they last 6-8 weeks), in place since early June). I had the pleasure of having to make yet another appointment, earliest opening was middle of November. That appointment had similar results as the previous one, still found an infection in the tooth.

At this point enough was enough (was told there would be a least two more appointments required for this tooth), I cancelled the next appointment and went to a different dentist and the problem was resolved in the same day.

If I had continued to let St. Peter's work towards the root canal, it wouldn't be complete until January at the earliest. That's EIGHT months for a routine root canal. Completley unacceptable.

The only glimmer of hope at this facility are the resident dentists. They at least know what they are doing.

Everything else was a nitemare. Good luck finding parking if you have afternoon appointments by the way.
