TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Our daughter needed to find a dentist near her collage. She called and asked if they specifically accepted our dental plan. She was told that, in fact they did so she went in for a cleaning and checkup. Several fillings later she was told she would have to pay the entire bill up front and insurance would reimburse her. This was a bold faced lie and against their policy. MCCARTHY is a NON-PROVIDER of Delta Dental which means they can "BILL" Delta for the patient and the patient would receive a lower level of coverage than if they were a PROVIDER (which is 100%). SO after speaking to 2 different levels of office staff, each which is "NOT AUTHORIZED" to give any kind of refund, I was referred to their "INSURANCE POLICY".
" INSURANCE POLICY
For those of you with Dental Insurance, as a courtesy, we will assist you in processing your insurance claims. In order for our office to file your insurance claim, you must bring proof of insurance for each appointment. Your co-Payment amount is due when services are provided.
All incurred charges are ultimately the responsibility of the patient regardless of insurance coverage. We must emphasize that as your dental care provider, our relationship is with you, our patient, and not with your insurance company. It is important to understand that the contract regarding your dental benefits is between you, your employer, and your insurance company. The obligation you have with our practice is to pay for the treat meant, regardless of the amount that may or may not be reimbursed by your insurance company. Our office is not a party to that contract or any possible restrictions. If you have any questions regarding our financial policy, please do not hesitate to ask. We are committed to providing you with the most positive experience in dental care. "
The have CLEARLY violated several portions of this policy:
1. They forced my daughter to pay for services IN FULL, not co-paument.
2. My daughter specifically asked about our provider and was assured they were participating - they are a NON PROVIDER for Delta Dental.
3. THEY are clearly not committed to creating a positive experience, only positive cash flow.
This is NOT the way our current dentist in North Canton does business. DO NOT USE MCCARTHY
