Shawnee Dentistry and Braces

I haven’t been to the dentist in quite awhile. The whole staff made me comfortable. I received a cleaning and they also got me started on my treatment plan.

The staff here is GREAT! . I had to get my teeth talking out and I never felt anything. I live in choctaw I will drive every time to Shawnee to this office. .

They tried to charge me for services of 155.00 that my insurance company clearly told me and them on a 3 way call they were not allowed to bill me for. Still showing I have a bill and services are being refused until I paid them the money not owed. Most hateful service I ever experienced.

I didn't have the greatest experience here this past time. The dentist is great, but whoever he sent in to give me my numbing shot did a horrible job. It hurt when she did it and after it wore off the pain was horrible. The morning after where she gave me the shot is red and swollen and still hurts, probably going to be looking elsewhere for a new dentist after this.

Had to pay for a free cleaning. My dental insurance allows for two free cleanings a year. Gave them both my dental insurance numbers, BEFORE going to the appointment. After cleaning, insurance filed, claim was not fully covered because they were not preferred provider. Didn't learn this until after claim was denied. Should have been told up front.

Really kind crew over here. I've been going here for a long time and my newest dentist seems very knowledgeable, and doesn't importune to do any unnecessary procedures or treatments.

I wish I had the great experiences that everyone else seems to have had. I started going here right before it was sold and changed to Shawnee Dentistry and braces. And the staff kept changing, they weren't keeping me informed about all those changes either. I met about 4 different dentists in a short time span. When you expect and request to get certain hygienists and it's a new person every time thereafter, it's rather frustrating. Maybe send out something saying "hey we have changed owners and therefore you may see new faces" because once you are comfortable with certain people, maybe you don't want that surprise. It's been a while since this all went down but it just snowballed. The last time I was only in the chair for 30 minutes and I feel like she was just trying to rush because I was her last patient. She also didn't do a good job of flossing (missing areas) or cleaning and relying too much on the sonic tool which can really take a toll after a while. The dentist didn't even care to check me out, and when you have gum disease you kinda want to know how that's going. Shall I mention the time they mailed me someone else's bill? I cried thinking I still owed them so much money until I realized it was someone else's name. Tsk, that person probably would not have wanted me to know what they had done. Needless to say I've switched to another place and it's so much better. The people actually seem to care. Side note: the music was awful here also. Just uncomfortable all around.

Dr Israelsen deserves a 5 star rating for his wonderful ability to put me at ease from the beginning of an exam to the conclusion of a procedure. His dental work is great! His confidence and mild manner help me to be less stressed during visits. I look forward to a very long relationship with this practice.

We took our son in to get some cavities filled for the first time and Dr. Israelsen and his staff were phenomenal. They did a wonderful job of settling his nerves and performing the necessary work.
