Thames Family Dentistry

How is it that you have 2 insurances and they both pay and write off part of the bill but I got charged the write off because I filed the insurance myself. I have never heard of such and I won’t be going back. Be careful of this type of service

Thames Family Dentistry not only takes care of all my teeth issues but they also helped me with my insurance problems. Everyone has a smile that is just for you and these smiles always make my day better. I never dread going to the dentist when I am headed to Thames Family Dentistry. Very professional and very friendly folks. I do highly recommend Thames for any and all your dental needs or just to go in and say hi if you are in need of some positivity in your life.

Upon having 3 extractions, they immediately took an impression of my mouth for the fitting of my new porcelain bridge. My gums were still very swollen.

When the bridge came in, it did not fit correctly. Instead of taking another impression, they said my gums would adjust and come down to fill the gap that was showing.

It was like they didn't want to take ownership for the mistake that was made. They never should have taken the impression until the swelling went down. Even if that meant I had to return the following day.

Now I'm stuck with this poor fitting bridge. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone.

Very strange and terrible experience here. First off, I was asked to pay a $10 COVID fee by the hygienist who cleaned my teeth AFTER the cleaning. Talk about sheisty. That was the first red flag. When I said I was unaware of it before my appointment, she was very aggressive about getting this money from me regardless. The entire staff was rude and their x-rays and equipment were very outdated. The cleaning was ok, but the flossing was rough, almost like she was mad. A dentist proceeded to talk to me at the end and told me my filling was cracked. Not true! I was very unhappy with the experience and called to cancel my follow up appointment. She asked me why I wanted to cancel and I was honest about the weird fees and general experience. She kept trying to convince me I shouldn't feel upset about the experience, but failed to provide any solace or address the strange fees. She kept saying that all dentists are charging these fees. Liessss. I called 3 other places when I left and none were charging a COVID fee. This place is dishonest and lacks professionalism. On top of that, they billed my insurance 3 times the cost that my wife paid, who had the exact same x-rays and cleaning. This place is shady. Stay away!

Overall the place is nice and the dental hygienist and doctors seem professional and nice. However, I go to the dentist every 6 months and when I moved here from out of state and first went to Thames dentistry I was told I had 6 cavities... 6!!!!!!!! Well, I got 3 "fixed" and then decided to get 2 second opinions and both told me that I didn't have the other 3. Hmmmmm

Either these dentists are the greatest dentist to ever practice and can see what others can't, or they're just out to make some money

I choose to believe the latter... use caution!!

Avoid, there a a lot of better alternatives, more professional and with better prices. Last month I took my mother because she had the typical tooth ache, once they finished the "examination", they started to tell us a tall tale of diagnostic and obviously with a high price. Obviously we saw the lie, we left and ended going to one of the other dentists in the area, who has better equipment, and way more professional.

For not having gone to a dentist in almost a decade I went in knowing I would probably have a cavity or 6. They weren't big cavities just small surface one between the teeth. The staff is friendly, the young male dentist does good work (only one that has worked on teeth) and it has all been relatively painless. No recurrent issues. All the 1 star reviews must've been customer induced because I've experience nothing but good service.

The best staff! The technology and equipment was the latest and greatest! Very professional. Got the Zoom whitening technique highly effective and the technician was a master at her profession! Jennifer was so helpful with a ( Hot Flash ) LOL

Dr. Thames did extensive work on me. And while my time in the chair was long, I always felt attended to and was always comfortable. His staff was VERY efficient, and pleasant. They went out of the way to see to my needs, even with follow-up calls after my visit.

We have received excellent dental care from Thames Family Dentistry. After going to another dentist for many years, we switched to Thames when they opened their Collierville office. The reason we changed was the digital x-rays that revealed that my daughter and I each had numerous small cavities that traditional film x-rays had missed!
We are very pleased with the personal service, the flexibility of scheduling, and the FRIENDLINESS of the staff at this state of the art equipment at this dental office.
My daughter has almost completed her Invisalign treatment.
