Dr. Alston gave me the best and most thorough cleaning I’ve ever had. My teeth feel so clean. She listened carefully to my concerns and took the time to explain the strategies she follows and help me understand them so I can take better care of my teeth and gums. She is super nice and easy to talk to and willing to laugh at my silly jokes, which is amazing. I’m really glad I found this place.

Love Dr. Ochoa! She makes me so comfortable each time I visit here. Her bedside manner is impeccable and she loves to joke! Keep being positive. You made my day.

From the front desk staff to orthodontist to dentist, I have had an amazing experience at this office. I saw Dr. K for an ortho visit here and she really gave me the time and attention into looking at my case and strategizing a plan for me. I haven’t felt valued by other doctors this way before, and I have gotten many opinions before landing on Austin Modern Dentistry for treatment. I appreciated that the dentist, Dr. O who also did a check up for me wasn’t pushy about any service and did a through check up of what treatment was warranted and what was optional for me. I would highly recommend this office for any of your ortho or dental needs!

I went in for a new patient exam and was told that I needed $6000 worth of treatment. At my most recent check-up I was told my teeth & gums were healthy so I found this surprising and very upsetting. I felt pressured to start treatment that day, despite clearly being overwhelmed & crying. The whole experience felt predatory. Went for a second opinion somewhere else and they said I didn’t need ANY treatment, just a regular cleaning.
When you’re in the dentist’s chair you’re vulnerable and I feel like this dental clinic preys upon that.

Dr.Ochoa is the best. I was having a lot of trouble with my mouth and I came in to see her for an emergency. She took care of me and listened to everything I had to say.. she made me feel very comfortable and didn’t let me go home without finding the solution to my problem. I’m so thankful for her and everything she did for me. 5 stars in my book.

Dr. Alston attended to my well-being throughout the entire appointment. She also made sure to offer suggestions beyond my current regimen to prevent future damage and deterioration. That definitely helped someone like me who thinks they are doing everything right but wants to prevent any future complications.
The assistant, Uriel also made the entire experience comfortable and easy. Asking how I felt and doing the most to accommodate any issues as they came up..

Great staff! Very thorough and they explain everything to you. Would highly recommend Dr. Alston and Modern Dentistry!!! Went back today for my follow up visit and my teeth have never felt better! Brandon, Shante and Jasmine are always extremely welcoming and put a smile on your face.

I've been going to Austin Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics for over a year now, I've had four visits, and I'm still really confused about all of their negative online reviews. Every time I go in for a visit, I remember these reviews and get nervous that I'm going to have a bad experience. That's actually why I've been waiting to write a review myself. But personally, I've had an excellent experience every visit, so I wanted to share my own review.

I'm going to list the highlights below, and I'm aware they will sound pretty much the exact opposite of many of the reviews here, but this truly has been my experience every time thus far. I DO have great dental insurance and good oral health, so that may add to the ease of my experience.

- They are speedy - I've never sat in the waiting room for more than a few minutes, and I can tell all the staff care about me getting out quickly, without rushing me if I have questions or concerns.

- Clear on pricing and explanations - They explain all scheduled and recommended procedures to you and allow you to accept or decline. They show you what the cost is with your insurance. They also have never seemed pushy in the slightest to me; I have always felt I can decline or reschedule something, and in fact I have done that with no attitude or resistance from the staff.

- Friendly - All of the staff have been friendly and courteous to me, or at the very least polite. Obviously everyone has off days, but I haven't come in contact with anyone being flat out rude yet. Additionally, many of the same staff are still there from when I started going a year ago.

- They play Marvel movies and fun music. Maybe the movies are for the kids, but hey, I appreciate it!

There actually are other things I like about this practice, but I would say those are the main things that stand out to me. I'm sorry for all those who have had a bad experience, but I personally want to compliment and thank the whole office for the excellent service and care they provide.
