I went to this Dentist years ago, as a young 22 year old. I am very sure he took advantage of the fact that I was young and naive and a cash paying patient at the time. Convinced me to do unnecessary work, pulled teeth that didn't actually need to be pulled, and then told me I should get implants where the teeth were pulled. Never offered
any other solution, just the most expensive option because I was just $$$ to him. I have dealt with the repercussions of his work for years after. had told me to take out my wisdom teeth I had had for 7 years because they would cause "crowding" however I only had 1 large molar left on my bottom jaw, so crowd what? Now I should get implants to replace the healthy teeth you pulled was the logic since now my teeth would be overworked without the support?? Replaced crowns I had done as a kid and split the root underneath(because it should have been done by an entodontist.) Not to mention, I woke up in the middle of surgery.
Anyway, Best I can tell you is a get a second opinion!
The one good thing I'll tell you, is the hygienist at the time was great and amazing and wish I remembered her name.

Worst Dentist. I spent $27,000 with him. It truly was the worst experience ever when they had to literally cut the temporary crowns out of my mouth. It was painful and a horrible experience. The teeth under my beautiful crowns started decaying and breaking after 2 years. When I went to see what could be done it was going to be another $17,000. I feel like the teeth were not prepped correctly for the crowns. They are all about the money. Needless to say, I would not recommend him at all. I cringe every time the commercial comes on the radio!!

Spent 41,000 2 implants failed then he wanted me to re pay. 4 years after the work was over started having problems now have to go to 2 different specialist to fix root canals and fix crowns. I did call the office and was told o well give us more money to fix the problem doc horrible attitude just a bad guy. But staff was always great

I have been trying to find an excellent dentist for over 25 years. I have been too at least 5 other dentists, only 1 was not in Odessa. Dr Rutherford and his staff were professional and compassionate. Dr Rutherford s staff explained everything to me and didn’t mind my asking questions and were not stoke and robotic. I was concerned about cost of course, not in my network, but the knowledge and credentials are well worth it. Dr Rutherford was thorough and caught things my regular dentist never mentioned. I thought I was getting preventative care all this time with my dentist, whom I have been going too for years. I came to Dr Rutherford for a second opinion and am so thankful I did.
