Happy Smiles Family Dentistry

I got my two root canals done at this place. What I was quoted for was different then what I got as a bill in mail afterwards. They charge you wrong prices. I payed for permanent filling and they did temporary filling. I payed everything on my first visit and there was not suppose to be a second visit but due to my infection I had to come back after a week. That's were they charged me again when I payed everything. There is just one dentist in there so if you have an appointment you go in there and the same dentist is treating 4 patients at one time. I had to wait long hour to get my root canal done. It's own by Asian people. I would never go back there again and I will sue them for wrong charge and wrong filing.

They tell you different prices and charge you more afterwards by saying you reached insurance max. When it's just them trying to make money. Read all the other reviews and you will see if it's just me or they are just ripping people off by running this business in unprofessional way just to make money.

Still waiting over 4 months for my dentures.

I wouldn't even give this place 1 star if I didn't have to. Awful doesn't even begin to describe our experience. The bedside manner of the dentist was shocking to say the least and she certainly doesn't need to be working with children. My young child needed an extraction and he was screaming from pain and they wanted help holding him down. I was questioning whether or not he was numbed enough and was told he had extra. The dentist's exact words were "we will try one more time and then you will be dismissed if he doesn't cooperate, and you will have to take him somewhere else to have him sedated". Yes, DISMISSED is the word she used. So, we left with an extremely traumatized child with his tooth halfway pulled out. I contacted another dentist the following morning for an emergency visit, as it was almost 7 pm when we left Happy Smiles the previous day. Let me just tell you what a different experience we had with this new dentist who was not only amazing with kids, but my child did NOT have to be sedated. The dentist at " Happy" Smiles allowed her frustration with my child to get the best of her, and that in itself was a huge part of the problem. My other child had work done there a few weeks back, only to have to go back on this same visit that was traumatizing, bc of pain coming from the tooth they worked on. Well, imagine this, they weren't exactly sure what needed to be done so she was referred elsewhere.

People, do not, I repeat, DO NOT go here, or you will be going elsewhere shortly after to have what they did, fixed. And most importantly, do not bring your children here or they will be traumatized and fearful of the dentist.

The one positive thing I can say is about the dental assistant. It was a light skinned African American male, who was very patient and understanding. He was great with my younger child and had a very professional bedside manner, and even went an extra step than the dentist. They both (unknowingly) gave me the same referral for a place that would sedate; the dentist gave it to me blank with just the other company's info, while the assistant took the time to fill it out with what tooth it was needing the work and a few other pertinent info. These things may seem small or insignificant, but all of those small things add up and make a difference. I hope he gets out of "Happy" Smiles (should really be called "Sad Frowns") and into a more legit dental office where he can continue to grow his career. HE would be great in a pediatric setting.

This is the first dentist's office where my daughter has had a positive experience. The dentist took his time to explain everything. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Nothing but good things to say about this practice.

Great customer service. Very professional and friendly. Im really happy I didnt let some bad reviews influence me into not going. I TAKE my 2 children here and THEY'VE HAD a great experience EACH VISIT. So we have made this our family dental care clinic for check ups and orthodontic care. Pat at the front IS really efficient. She said she would try get our insurance to cover the kids visits. She tried her best. KEPT ME INFORMED AT ALL TIMES AND CALLED BACK EACH TIME SHE SAID SHE WOULD. We relocated from another state and our insurance doesnt cover us in Virginia. So we have to pay out of pocket. This being the case we can choose any place, but Happy smiles is stuck with us now. THEY ARE SO CONSIDERATE AND FAMILY ORIENTATED . The dental assistant was very good with the kids. The dentist worked on their braces and the kids ARENT IN PAIN after their adjustment visits. So Thank you HAPPY SMILES KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Excellent service and nice staff.

I love them you may have to wait a little longer but I have good reason to gave 5 stars .i recently had some fillings done and it was really bad for me but because I have issues everytime I go to the dentist and the doctor did everything to help me finally I fell a lot better they not charge extra to me .

I’m gonna give it 1 because you cannot give a lower review. My daughter left in tears today because of the PSYCHO dentist that was so inappropriate it’s borderline illegal. The dental assistant was a sweetheart but she is the first one that had a problem with how her boss behaved. WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFETIME! I promise you that you will regret it if you make an appointment with these mental patients posing as dentists in the mall in Glen Allen.

Unethical. They quoted me wrong prices and felt asking someone not to come back was the appropriate response for that person asking them to honor the prices they were quoted. No wonder there are no patients in the patient chairs in the back! I am a former dental assistant and marketing manager of dental offices.....don't go here. This dentist practice is located inside a shopping mall in Glen Allen. Its a total joke.
