Neighbors and Herod Family Dentistry

I inherited Dr. Herod when my dentist retired. I never really had issues with my teeth- I visited this office every six months for cleanings. Then he took care of me when I cracked a tooth. He couldn't fix my tooth immediately, but he gave me relief in the form of a numbing shot that lasted the very few hours until he actually could fix my tooth. I was singing his praises that day. He easily could have referred me to an emergency dentist, but he didn't.

Last month I thought I had cracked another tooth. Lord help me. The zing in that tooth was awful. I called the office at 1:00 on a Friday afternoon and asked for an appointment on Monday. I was told that Dr. Herod could see me within the hour. Turns out it was probably a sinus issue, but he took x-rays, fully assessed my teeth and gums and created a plan for the weekend. It worked and I felt better by the middle of the next week.

Dr. Herod is kind. He is considerate. He is also a great dentist. The office staff are friendly and helpful and the hygienists are gentle and thorough. I am so glad that he found his way to my retiring dentist's office. I would recommend without hesitation.

My family have attended our dentist since 2004 and we would not consider going anywhere else. I am a nervous patient and Dr Herod always puts me at ease and makes sure I’m comfortable. My children have grown up with our dentist and enjoy going to see him.

Drs. Herod and Neighbors are both gifted and caring dentists that provide unsurpassed care. I, like many people, did not look forward to going to the dentist in the past. I now have found that going to see Dr. Herod is easy and largely painless. Drs. Herod and Neighbors are very responsive to any needs that one could have after a procedure as well.

I have been going to this dentistry for 29 years and I have to say, it is the best place in town. They are friendly, good at their job, excellent knowledge, have the latest equipment, they care about you like family, call you to see if you are doing good after your appointment. I had a root canal about six months ago, I was so dreading it but once I got there, Dr. Herod told me each step on what he was doing and I have to say, it did not hurt. No pain, he made it fun. Made sure I was ok and it was over with before I knew it. I told him the other day, that root canal was awesome, he laughed and said he had never heard it called that, but actually there was nothing to it, the thought was way worse than the actual procedure. I would never think of going anywhere else, my whole family goes to him and also I have my friends going to him that just moved here, and they have their kids going to him now, so it is a family and friends affair, he knows us all by our first name. Dr. Brian Herod and the entire Drs. Neighbors & Herod team consistently turn what our family of 5 had once considered to be the dreaded dentist visit into a positive experience. The staff is warm, caring & attentive. They have squeezed us in for emergency appointments, accommodated short-notice schedule changes, and researched benefit details to ensure that treatment options and timeline are best aligned with insurance coverage parameters. With impeccable chairside manner, Dr. Herod calmly exudes confidence and professionalism, accompanied by charisma and relatability. He is young but experienced and knowledgeable with regard to both traditional and more innovative techniques. He pays attention to every fine detail and takes the time to thoroughly explain treatment options, procedures, recommendations, etc.

For our family, he has performed a wide range of procedures from the common to the rare & complex… all with minimal discomfort & anxiety experienced. It is not uncommon to receive a call or text from him in the evening following a procedure to ensure that all is well. Dr. Herod and his team are wonderful with children… so good that my 3 can’t even relate to fearing dentist visits (as I did at their ages). One of my boys actually mentioned following a recent appointment that he feels inspired to become a dentist in the future. As a side note, it is convenient that Drs. Neighbors & Herod work closely with a highly regarded orthodontics practice located under the same roof. Did I mention that the hygienists and assistants here are THE BEST!
