We drove all the way from Bellingham and didn’t even get a complete exam. They asked if any teeth were bothering me and only examined that tooth. Even though I hadn’t had an exam in years. I was told I needed to make another appointment. Um that’s what I thought I was there for? I was given $1000 estimate and told I needed a root canal at the university. That was 2 years ago and I never went back because I hate it when my time is wasted! No compassion!

My wife went here and it was a joke. I am in dental school so I came to watch the dentist. He was horribly late and not friendly. He didn't ask my wife's name or tell us his, he just sat down and got to work. He told my wife she need invisalign and added it to a treatment plan for her, despite her telling him she did not want and did not have money for invisalign. Then they tried to get her to sign that treatment plan, which is totally unnecessary (I'm in dental school, I've seen a number of dentists and there is no reason why a patient has to sign a treatment plan). I have shadowed ten dentists, and this is without a doubt the worst I have seen.

Very Bad dental experience, actually the worst Dental experience I have ever had before!
Dr. Manogaran jammed the needle into my gums it bent in 1/2 and the novocaine went down my throat, I kept complaining that the tooth still hurt when he was drilling on it, he just got angry with me and said it doesn't hurt that much!
I called my old Dentist where I just moved from, and asked what to do, He said to look up Doctor Manogaran on the Washington State Department of Health Provider Credential Search web page. Oh my I am not the only one who thinks Doctor Manogaran is a bad dentist so does the DOH. On March 2011 to March 2012 Doctor Manogaran used an unlicensed dental assistant that provided dental care to patients. On January 6th and 7th 2012 Doctor Manogaran prescribed Narcotics to an employee for non-dental related purposes. He was fined by Washington State Department of Health.
So I stopped going to Pleasant Smile Dental and I found an Awesome dentist by doing a search on Google! My advice is always search Google reviews before making an appointment with any Doctors or Dentist!
I thought that was the end of my bad experience a few months later I am reviewing my dental insurance monthly statement and I noticed that they have paid Pleasant Smile Dental for dental work I never had done, My new dentist said that he has X-ray proving the work was never done, I called my dental insurance and they are now investigating him for insurance Fraud.
So this is the very first time I have ever written a bad review on Google, I always give a business or restaurant the benefit of doubt, maybe they were having a bad day when I was there. The only reason I wrote this review is in the hopes that it will save the Google community the hardship that this Dentist has caused my family.
My final advise always always check Google reviews first,
and then check Washington State Department of Health web page.
****Update**** 1/26/2016 My insurance just called me and said they are going to credit back to my account the money that was paid to Pleasant Smile Dental Care.

Just did cleaning today. I have never had such unprofessional cleaning in my life. Usually I feel fresh and clean. This time it was same as I walk in and walk out no changes. Staff all nice and friendly but service not.
Will never come back again.
I think you have to care more about people not money.

Buyer beware! I hope this helps someone not get ripped off as I did. It wasn't until I left that I realized how much I'd been fleeced.
Awful work and they overcharge to the point of ripping you off. Everyone in the office is in on it. Here's an example:
$90 for a "partial exam" he checked 4 or 5 pockets.
$200 for 15 minutes of teeth cleaning which means he didn't get it all by a long shot.
$465 to replace a filling. Good luck patients!

It's a very friendly atmosphere. The Dr. was great as well as his assistant. They made sure i was comfortable the whole time i was getting the procedure done. Thanks for making it so easy.

This dentist is the best with kids and adults. Very gentle to all dental work for my whole family. Also I had minimal out of pocket expenses since they accept my insurance and girls upfront know their job.
