As far as dental care , I would say they are decent. I got a tooth extracted and it went well. The cost was decent and all that. That’s a plus.
However , I feel like unless you’ve got good insurance (which I don’t) they don’t really address your other dental needs. I feel like I got mostly perfunctory care.
They recommended saving the tooth but the cost was simply too high for me.
I would also like to address the choice of music playing through the speaker system. While waiting for the Novocain to take effect , I heard some lyrics that made me blush. It is not soothing to hear about male private parts while you are nervous about getting your chopper yanked. Just saying.

Dr Tom Machak is an extremely insensitive human. I left in tears, as if coming in for the type of appointment I came in for wasn't hard enough. To have him bash on me to my face was absolutely absurd and uncalled for!!! I will be going elsewhere.

I've been going here for years and they are very friendly. However, I made an appointment for a basic cleaning and checkup over three months ago only to have them cancel on me three days beforehand. Then I was told I couldn't get another afternoon appointment for at least two months. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I will never go to Smiles on Calumet again.
