As long as I can remember I have not liked going to the dentist. When I was little my family would volunteer to be the first live patients for new dentists. They were nervous. I recall my gums and even tongue getting cut at the dental college. Virtually every dentist I dealt with over the next forty years made me anxious. Most were just people who made me uncomfortable. That feeling makes it virtually impossible to truly trust them.
Flash forward my first son goes to a pediatric dentist recommended by our Aurora children’s doctor. They guy was an aging zombie man who seemed to not like children. He scared me for my son and my son didn’t like, trust or want to be there.
Flash forward a few more years. With three children two who had never been to the dentist, my wife not going to the dentist in maybe ten years and me only going if I had a problem, I met Dr. Brett. I said to myself this guy is different. The kind of person all of our friends are, sincere, honest and just nice. While we meticulously brush teeth with the children it was long overdue that they see a dentist so the whole family went to Total Care Dental.
For the first time in my memory I can relax at the dentist! My wife loves them and the children… LOVE GOING TO THE DENTIST!!! Even our son who made no bones about it he did not like or trust the first dentist LOVES going to TCD. We live in Delafield so a 50 minute drive is a commitment but every person from the people who check you in to the people who clean your teeth to the dentists is worth it.
If you never felt good at the dentist and you want a dentist you just know you can trust try TCD and you will at least not mind going to the dentist from that point forward.

My experience at TCD was awesome and unexpected. Dr. Clark and the rest of his team, the administrative staff--everyone--were genuinely magnanimous people. I had a chipped tooth repaired and during the procedure Dr. Clark repaired a small chip in another tooth free of charge. He then scheduled me for a free cleaning! He sent a handwritten note to thank me and even wished me luck of specific upcoming endeavors that he and I had discussed during the consultation. This place is teeming with empathetic, positive human beings and consummate professionals. I highly recommend.

We love Total Care Dental. They do a great job for our whole family. I've never had such gentle hygienists. Dr. Clark is always on top of things too. We took our 3-yr old for her first visit last year and she's always asking when she can go back. I would highly recommend Total Care Dental for the whole family.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE TCD! Kelsi and Dr. Vandehaar will be my go to for the rest of my life! I kept pushing off picking a dentist in Madison because I was afraid of the pain/process. Kelsey did an amazing job taking it at my pace, providing any comfort I needed, and generally being down to earth and fun to talk with, all while being very professional! Dr. Vandehaar is very experienced and did a wonderful job understanding my needs. Would 100% recommend!

Great place to go to! The staff are very caring and listen to your concerns. My wife needed major treatment and another dentist smacked her in the face with a $9k estimate. Total Care Dental did no such thing. They laid out a treatment plan in segments that were nowhere near as expensive. Our visits so far have been exceptional!

Was extremely happy with every experience I had . Very nice and loving staff..I was dealing with certain dental facilities and was given the run around with me having an abcess for 3months since April 11th.. Long story short my wife called Total Care Dental so that I could have top quality work done instead of the facilities I was dealing with before..They got me in talked about what needed to be done and started on it that day and the rest of my work will be done in two weeks.. I'm so happy already with half of my work done .Couldn't of asked for a better dental clinic.
