West University Family Dentistry has done an excellent job. I lost my dentures in a house fire. They went beyond and above getting dentures for me.The doctor and team were fantastic. They truly care about their patients from beginning to end. I am so glad I came to you. Thanks for everything you did. I highly recommend them for all your dental needs. Thanks again đđđđ

This place has gone downhill. Poor Dr. Zietz. Heâs such a nice person and he sold his business to a big company who donât have a clue how to run it. I guess I canât fault all of the employees, as their probably treated like garbage so whatâs their motivation to do a good job any way. The dental assistant I experienced was cold and the lady in the office wasnât any better. So, I feel sorry for everyone all the way around. Patients and staff.

No where near the hospitality I felt with Dr. Ziets. There was a very sweet women working the front desk, but itâs clear they now require far less training for their dental hygienist. The women cleaning my teeth was rude and CLEARLY lacked experience, making me feel uneasy the whole time. Overall, unprofessional and never going back.

I had a great experience there. I had to have my tooth extracted and I was scared that it wouldnât go well because it has many risks and also because I had an infection. They told me what antibiotics I had to take and then gave me the appointment for the extraction. Everything went really good, I felt no pain (which I was scared of, because of the previous infection) and they all were really nice to me. Iâll go again if I need it, for sure.
Thanks

The staff was personable and completed my crown procedure quickly and with out pain. They utilize state of the art technology to deliver an eye opening picture of your overall oral health. Things change and this practice has updated accordingly.

The hygienist cleaned my teeth. She was so sweet and relaxed my dental anxiety. The new doctor Thacker was also amazing and very informative.

1. Asked for an appt for 3pm or after due to work. Got a 11:30a appt instead. Got 9 text messages in a matter of 8 days reminding me of my appt. Day of the appt I got a call 2 hours before the appt asking if I can change to 1hour earlier due to no dental assistant coverage. I wasnât able to do that so my appt changed to 12:30p. Which worked. Only to get there for my appt a bit early and wasnât seen till 1pm due to the dental assistant being late.
2. My appt was for 2 tooth extractions. 1st extraction went great. I couldnât wait for the 2nd extraction so I can get on with my day. 2 hours later the dentist was still working on my 2nd extraction. The dentist and the assistant told me they would take a break which I thought would be 10 minutes but turned into an hour.
Within the hour my mouth was bleeding and had to flag down a different assistant for gauzes. Also flagged down another assistant for pain medication due to numbness rubbing off.
After an hour from the break. The dentist and the assistant finally came back to work on my extraction for another 2 hours. Tooth never came out and they gave up and referred me to an oral surgeon.
3. The room I was in was dirty. The dentist gave me two care bags. One, the assistant provided with sealed gauzes. The other bag the dentist provided for me that had gauzes placed in a ziplock bag. Had to beg for pain medication after they assisted in giving me advil/ibuprofen. I understand the opioid crisis but I thought my mouth was on fire from so much pulling/tugging the tooth and anesthetic shots. At least 10-15 shots by the way.
After leaving this place my mouth was sore, swollen and I was in a worst situation than when I arrived.

Great experience! Not everyone can say that about going to the dentist! Everyone is so nice and caring. And they do a great job!

FYI, the majority of these reviews are for Dr. Fred Zietz. Also, I'm wondering how they are getting all these "new positive" reviews (when you hit the "newest" filter) from profiles with a total of ONE review. RED FLAG! Also, if you look at some of these new reviews, they don't even live in the state. Some are as far away as California.
As for these guys, hereâs my .02 cents. I had dental pain and called early afternoon on a Friday. I don't care if they weren't open, medical providers SHOULD have a means to address emergencies and patients who need their assistance. Left a message for their office and still have not heard back from them. I wound up having to go to Urgent Care and received a prescription for antibiotics to address an infection. I really tried to give this practice a chance (as did my husband) and I'm sorry to say, it has been nothing but a disappointment. Every single time we have dealt with them (5 times since December 2021) it has been nothing but a fiasco. We have been treated rudely, have had issues ignored and wasted our time traveling all the way across town (we live on the East Side). Unfortunately at this time, we do not plan on coming back. I really thought people were being a little over critical because Dr. Zietz was "that good". Based on my experience, it is not what I would expect from any dental office, period. Zietz or no Zietz, this place is not worth doing business with in consideration to the level of care and respect you receive as a patient.

This WAS the best dentist I've ever had. I've been going to Dr. Zietz for 35 years, including my husband and four children, we are saddened to hear he will no longer be there, so we will no longer be there. The atmosphere will be very dull without him not to mention he's a genius when it comes to teeth. I drove an hour just to have Dr. Zietz work on my teeth and take care of all of our dental needs so wherever he goes, I go.
