Bent Creek Dental

This was my first visit and I was very impressed. Dr Mathis was very gentle when checking my teeth and very nice. His staff was great and his office was spotless and very modern. The office also had a large tv in the corner of the exam room and one installed on the ceiling for your enjoyment while having your procedure completed. The entire visit was very pleasant.

Dr. Mathis and the staff were very friendly and professional! I also didn't have to wait to be called back. My aching tooth was repaired quickly and I haven't had a problem since. Highly recommend Bent Creek Dental!!

These people change the old "fear of the dentist". I've never been treated so kindly or gentler at a dentist office, and feel that I was taken wonderful care of and I'm not afraid to go back.

Great experience. From start to finish I actually enjoyed my visit to the dentist. The office is modern and clean. The women at the front desk are kind and welcoming. I was taken back right away, no wait time. I went in for a regular cleaning. They have TVs on the walls and the ceiling as a great distraction. I pretty much watched 1 episode of property brothers on hgtv and was done. My cleaning is easy and the dental hygienist Mary Catherine, was gentle and kind. The Dr. was nice and personable. I already scheduled my next appointment. Thank you

I had my first visit to Bent Creek Dental yesterday and I was so happy with my experience with them! They were so welcoming while still being so professional. The staff and Dr. Mathis took such good care of me and I can’t wait to visit them again in the future!

Unfortunately, my experience was totally opposite of others. I visited in May 2021 to see if I needed a root canal or have a tooth pulled due to a cavity. Dr. Mathis was under the impression initially that the cavity could be filled. Upon further investigation, he realized that the cavity was too deep into the tooth and the tooth was dead and would need a root canal or be pulled.

Even though the dentist discovered the cavity had damaged the tooth too much, I was scheduled to have the cavity cleaned and against my better judgment, I went back for that appointment. At said appointment, Dr. Mathis drilled and drilled and drilled and drilled. Drilled some more and then some more. A temporary crown was put over the massive hole that all the drilling had done and I was given recommendations to where I could go to have the root canal procedure performed by an oral surgeon.

Hours after the appointment, I was in severe pain. They'd closed for the day so I couldn't call. The next morning, the pain was so severe that I called and spoke with a receptionist to see if I could have a prescription written for pain. A prescription was written yet I never spoke to Dr. Mathis because he didn't come to the phone to speak with me directly. I went to work that day and the pain continued to intensify after taking the first dosage of the prescription. So I waited a few hours and took another dose.

I left work early that day and I went home and tried to sleep the pain away. To no avail. The pain was so severe I couldn't fall asleep. I ended up visiting EAMC emergency room that night around 9pm and ultimately had to have an IV put in my arm with morphine to reduce the pain. It was the most excruciating pain I'd ever felt in my entire life. To add more insult to injury, due to the visit at the ER being dental related, my insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield did not cover the ER visit.

What started out as a cavity being "cleaned" prior to a root canal procedure, ended with a bill for the ER that was approximately $1,038 out of pocket. That's three times more than what a root canal costs with insurance. I never called after calling to get the prescription written. I also never went back here to have my crown put on by Dr. Mathis. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. In the end, that one visit cost me more than I could have ever imagined and laying in the ER on a morphine IV was enough for me to never in my life go back.

I had the best experience that I have ever had at a dentist office. Everyone was kind and understanding.
