I experience extreme anxiety over dental treatment, so I had put off finding a local dentist for years since moving to Montgomery. But when I developed a painful abscess, i needed treatment immediately. A friend recommended East Taylor Dental Associates and explained they specialize in treating patients with dental anxiety. I was sceptical and still terrified when I arrived at my appointment. However, I could not have been more impressed by the kindness and understanding of Dr. Horner and his entire staff. The hygienist who took me into the exam room recognized my anxiety and immediately set me at ease. She explained that I had no need to feel embarrassed and that my phobia was extremely common. She explained that this visit was only for X-rays and a consultation, but she still described the many options they offered to relieve anxiety during procedures, from nitrous oxide to conscious sedation. Dr Horner could not have been more gentle and comforting during our consult, and the office staff were equally helpful and understanding as they worked with me to schedule appointments for further treatment. I highly recommend this practice for everyone, especially patients who suffer any type of anxiety over dental visits.
