Magic Smiles Dental

I have a really deep-seated fear of going to the dentist. The full on uncontrollably shaking, crying-during-a-simple-exam type of fear, so naturally I wait until I *need* to go in and preventative becomes (the much more fun) reconstructive.

Okay, you think. Why should I care? And the answer is because if someone like me is recommending a dentist, they're probably pretty good.

I felt like one of those shivery little dogs wearing a thundershirt that says HIGH STRESS, and everyone in the office picked up on it. The secretaries were sympathetic, the assistants were understanding, and the dentist (Dr. Boling) was patient. He stopped when I got too nervous, waited as long as I needed, and constantly asked if I was alright. Everyone listened to my concerns pre-procedure, and gave me all the explanations I could ask for. They even hit me with some awful jokes to lighten the mood.

Oh, and don't let the child-friendly website and goofy font turn you off if you don't have kids. I never felt weird being in there by myself.

Basically, they're great. Would I go back there just to hang out? Probably not, but I'll definitely back the next time I need dental work done, and maybe I won't wait until last minute.

We went there for the first time Nov 12, 2018 and we have tried a couple other dentists and my daughter seemed to feel the most comfortable at this one. They were very friendly and answered all her questions. She is 9 and wants to know about everything. They were clean and inviting. they even had a little play ground out back. We will be back.

The experience we just had at Magic Smiles was so tramatic I honestly do not know how my child will ever get past it or even myself to be honest.
In all fairness every staff member we encounter with the exception of Dr. Cook was very kind, professional, compassionate and apologetic.
Dr. Cook walked in and did not say one single word to myself or my daughter, he only spoke to the dental assistant. Every time he took a pause my very anxious daughter asked him what he would be doing FIVE times she asked only to be ignored. When Dr. Cook finished speaking to assistant he just went straight in and put a tool in my child's mouth still without speaking to my child or myself. Just as I was about to ask him what he was doing my daughter became more nervous, grabbed his hand and asked "I want to know what you are doing to me?"
I realize my daughter should not have grabbed his hand but she would never have done that if he would have given her the answers & respect ANY patient deserves.
This infuriated Dr. Cook and he put his finger all the way in my child's face to the point his finger touched her nose and he yelled
"NO! NO YOU WILL NOT DO THAT!!"

I immediately took my child out of there and will NEVER return. I did get a phone call to apologize but Not from Dr. Cook.

I have always been terrified of the dentist even worse throughout my adult life so to actually leav a dentist office where I say thank you is huge for me they have such great customer service and really know how to calm you down I would recommend them to anyone kids or adults. Thanks for making my experience comfortable and taking care of my pain.

I went there to get one chipped tooth a bottom rear molar with a filling that was there from a previous dentist fixed. It was hurting and needed worked on. DDS White told me once I was there that she would work it until she drilled and filled six teeth that looked fine. I was in pain so I let her instead walking out of there quickly, I am mad at myself for not leaving. Then she didn't even work on the tooth I went there to have that was hurting. She obviously was trying afflict me with coersion and malpractice to bill extra and cause further dental problems. 😣The crown that the blond woman dentist did on the tooth that I went there fixed was descent but a week or two after the trouble with DDS White. But that DDS White drilled and filled 6 teeth that I don't think needed fillings and a couple on the sides in the back about in 2015 and all 6 teeth hurt. She told me she wanted to drill and fill those teeth before she worked on tooth that was hurting a bottom molar, and the side of a couple of back molars. I should have told her no.!!! She did a couple of bonds also and I went back for her to touch up one it still looks crooked and shorter than the other side, and the other one broke off and she wouldn't repair it. The orthodontist there pulled one tooth. She broke it while extracting it, and it took her 2-4 hours to get the tooth out. She cut it into two pieces and pulled them out. I felt pieces of the tooth still in my gum a few days after the extraction. I was picking pieces of tooth out of my gum for a month and it was infected. I went to a different dentist to have the other wisdom tooth extracted at different dental office it took less five minutes and he didn't leave broken tooth in my gum. 😣😣😣😣😣😣😣😣 Some of the worst dentist I have been too.☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

Always a wonderful experience. Staff are compassionate, friendly, and helpful and they know exactly what they're doing, both with kids and with teeth. Reception cuts through the nonsense of redundant paperwork and delivers an expedited visit and return scheduling. Not only are the kids at ease, they also get a goodie bag after the visit with some dental supplies and a toy or two. Frankly, I'm impressed. My kids and I lucked out when I found this place.

I have been bringing my 3 children here (Magic Smiles-Mesa Location) for several years now and I LOVE my kids being patients here! Dr. Justine Manalastas and her staff are AMAZING!! They are ALL very knowledgeable,friendly and they make you feel like you are right at home!

First time being there the front office was nice. The dental assistant really friendly and nice they don’t make you feel embarrassed or they don’t look down on you. The doctor was super nice too and welcoming.

I've been quite happy with our experiences at Magic Smiles. They really care about kids and all the staff are great! I am content with bringing my children here for their continuous dental care.

We had a great experience at Magic Smiles. The girls at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. Both my daughters were seen there and taken care of. Now they are cavity free and looking good! Thanks again for all your help!
