Hohenstein & Schwartz Family & Cosmetic Dentistry

As a retired dentist, I am familiar with the education and skills of most of the dentists in the Tucson area. I chose Dr. Schwartz not only because of his advanced training and expertise but also for his professionalism and kindness. My family and I have been patients of Dr. Schwartz for the past seven years. Beyond basic dental care of fillings and cleanings, he has provided comprehensive care, including root canal therapy, crowns, extractions, periodontal services and more. It is great to have all of these services provided by the same professional with whom you are most comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Schwarz and his staff for your family also.

I hate leaving negative reviews, but sometimes you have to call a spade a spade. I visited this office several months ago at the recommendation of a neighbor. I was basically looking for an assessment/second opinion on a cracked molar. I provided my insurance information when I called to setup the appointment and was told that it was accepted. I get there on the day of my appointment, check-in, sign the papers, give them a copy of my insurance card, etc. I get called back quickly and the dentist/dental assistant do their thing. If it helps, they were nice enough and seemed competent. When I get back to the front desk afterwards, I am informed that my insurance is NOT accepted by this dental office. Keep in mind that I work for the State of Arizona, so it's not like I have some obscure dental insurance. I would have never come for the appointment had I known that my insurance was not accepted and that I would have to pay the entire bill out of pocket. It was a waste of my time and money. I've never managed a dental or medical office before, but can imagine that it's probably a good business practice to run the insurance information before actually taking a patient back for services, thus avoiding these types of issues. Or, if you are going to take patients back before ensuring that their insurance is accepted, taking responsibility and offering to waive or discount the bill.

Hohenstein and Schwartz Family Dentistry got me in as a new patient literally ‘next day’ to address an emergency! Dr. Schwartz took time to review my X-rays and put together a plan. He is terrific at communicating his thoughts about my case and strikes me as a dentist who puts a lot of thought and care into his patients! I’m really glad I reached out to them for help! I look forward to working with them on improving my health from a dental standpoint!

Absolutely the best Dentist I have ever had - Five Star all the way! Dr. Schwarz is the very best! Very knowledgeable, caring, gives excellent recommendations for treatment! I cannot say enough! The staff is wonderful! The office is very clean! I changed my insurance company to be able to go to their office!

Dr shwartz is awesome!!!! Very receptive and a very good listener definitely cares about your needs and getting u in and taking care of u. I had the same dentist for almost 24 years until he retired. I was very nervous about getting another good dentist. I know now I have found one!

I have been going to Dr. Hohenstein for 20+ years. Both he and Dr. Schwartz are fantastic. Gentle, kind and very professional. I wouldn't dream of going elsewhere!
Although I haven't met the newest dentist I'm sure since chosen by the 2 he has to be very good.

I am a Snowbird and just arrived in January from Ohio. My dentist in Ohio had a partial made for me but I couldn’t get fitted prior to leaving. He sent it to Hohenstein & Schwartz dental organization and they did an outstanding job of not only getting me a quick appointment but doing a great job of fitting up the partial. I’m very pleased and highly recommend them.

These people are fabulous, I wish could give them 10 stars. After asking around, I was advised that Hohenstein & Schwartz was the best practice in town. The recommendations were absolutely correct.
I made an appointment with Dr. Xing (who was kind enough to see me the next business day). Dr. Xing was personable, professional and empathetic. He gave me all the time I needed and explained the entire process. He was thorough and extremely competent, and he is a genuinely nice guy.
Of course I need to mention the women at the front desk and the entire staff. Everyone so nice and welcoming, they actually made a trip to the dentist seem kind of fun. (In fact I may start eating more candy so I can go more often 😂). Finally, the cost of the visit was extremely reasonable.
In all seriousness, if you are looking for a dentist in the Tucson area, this is the place to go.

This was my first time at this office, and I was extremely impressed. The front office personnel were all helpful, efficient, professional, and kind. The dental assistant and Dr. Zing were both very efficient, thorough, and welcoming.
