It's unfortunate how drastically this dental office has changed. I used to come here because they used to do a great job at fixing my teeth with minimal discomfort and in a professional manner.
Unfortunately, things have changed now. The office is extremely short staffed and their only dentist is rude, impatient, unprofessional, and incompetent.
For example, she was rude when she made the comment, "I need you to chew like a man", after I had a long dental procedure and was having a hard time chewing. She is also rude by lacking basic people skills that would make a patient feel welcome and understood. She was Impatient by not being careful and diligent when numbing my teeth and by rushing her work. She was unprofessional by having inadequate grooming standards, including exuding bad body odor. And she was incompetent by being incapable of fixing my dental problem and stating that she cannot guarantee the healing process of the patient. Unfortunately, she is recommending a more expensive procedure, meaning I have to pay more on top of what I have already paid.
Additionally, I was misquoted and I ended up receiving a letter stating that I had a balance.
To be clear, this is either the first or second time that I leave a bad review somewhere, but I feel that I have the responsibility to advice people seeking dental treatment to go somewhere else.
To the dental office, I can only suggest reevaluating your hiring standards.

Janette Contreras is literally the best!! She did a deep clean and made sure I was comfortable with almost 0 pain and got me back on track! Her and the rest of the staff are wonderful!!

My daughter has been seeing the orthodontist here for over 2 years. Today she was scheduled for a follow that was scheduled weeks ago. I called to confirm the time and I was told she doesnโt have an appointment and that this office no longer does orthodontist. I have the appointment card showing my daughter did have an appointment and why wasnโt I called when they decided to stop having an orthodontist?? Real nice. My daughter is actually having issues and jaw pain. Now I have to find a new orthodontist while my daughter waits in pain. Thanks for your horrible service and trying to make me look like a liar about her appointment.

Our insurance says we should have paid $700. They charged us $2000. We have went in and spoke to the office manager. She said she would contact the billing department for review and give us a call back and to this date, no response since March from the office manager and every time I call they say sheโs not in and will call us back but never does. So filed a complaint to the state board of dentistry. Really sad that I had to post a bad review to finally get Iliana to get up and do her job that Iโve been requesting for assistance with since April. Had to file a complaint with the insurance to finally get my refund in process. This is the worst service ever. After all this money my husband still has bone sticking out of his jaw bone that they didnโt take care of. Maybe whoever hires the manager for this office should probably reread her resume!!

It was absolutely terrible. I wanted to cleaning my insurance said was free they would not clean my teeth unless I paid them $1000 for a deep cleaning which I did not want.

Serious Management Problem - Donโt waste your time
This office used to be a well ran establishment. Everyone was professional and I felt well taken care of. I even liked that the office offered late appointments on certain days of the week.
Things have taken a turn for the worse. I am supposed to receive a cleaning every 3 months (per the recommendation of Tortolita Dental). 6 months ago, I made an appointment 3 months out. I was contacted right before the appointment to tell me that my appointment was cancelled because one of the two hygienist quit. It was a bummer but hey, things happen - I understood this one (even though a little heads up would have been appreciated). I was just slightly irritated when they proceeded to tell me that they couldnโt get me in for another 3 months.
Today I received another call to inform me that my appointment, which was scheduled for tomorrow, was now cancelled due to another hygienist quitting. This is unprofessional on so many levels. First, they called me the day before my scheduled appointment (again), when theyโve known about this for a while ( I know this because they told me they already hired a new hygienist but that she is in training tomorrow). Second, I know that there are agencies in town that find โsubstituteโ hygienists in town for this very type of situation where the normal hygienist becomes unavailable. Tortolita Dental Group management must just be to cheap to hire a sub. To me it seems they would rather put your dental health on the line than their profits.
Iโm not the type to leave reviews, especially not negative ones. But Tortolita Dental has left such a bad taste in my mouth that Iโm hoping I can help to prevent as many people out there from trusting them with theirs.

Update. I needed to see the oral surgeon and they knew that. They scheduled my procedure and the called me the same day before the appointment to cancel saying that the oral surgeon wasnt available. Iโve been on hold for 30 mins waiting for a reschedule just for them to hang up on me. Irritated and still needing the work done/appointment scheduled. They have not called back

I never leave reviews, but feel I should leave a warning to others. I went in for a routine check up and cleaning. While the office staff was courteous enough, the dentist and โsales staffโ were horrible. The dentist (Dr. Morris) came up with a ridiculous treatment plan (multiple crowns, deep cleanings for gum issues, etcโฆ) which I was fairly surprised at since Iโve had 2 cavities my whole life. After he discussed โeverything wrong with meโ he sent in a sales manager (?!) to discuss pricing. The pricing was exorbitant and I knew the whole thing was fishy. I ended up walking out (without a cleaning) and seeing another dentist. The other dentist office I visited confirmed I do not have all the issues Tortolita Dental claimed I had and gave me a cleaning and simply fixed an old filling.
Iโm so disgusted by the practices of this office.

I would give ZERO stars to this place if I could. They need to be shut down! My son went in for a checkup and cleaning. He was charged $400 after insurance!! Claiming the cleaning was for gum disease and would normally be $1000. What a joke! This was not explained to him until after the procedure at which point they asked him how he would be paying. Really great of a business to take advantage to a 20 year old college kid that that works his tail off. Certainly, he doesn't have anything better to spend his hard earned money on aside from a bogus dental bill, right?! Shame on you!

Great dental office to be a part of. Scheduling is easy and there is always availability. The front desk attendants are very friendly and make paperwork effortless. And the doctors are amazing when it comes to getting the job done. Their procedures here are smooth and clean... just like my teeth! They actually make me excited to go to the dentist again. 10 out of 10 dentist would highly recommend.
(Sorry about some of the teeth puns)
