The worst experience of my life ! Discriminates against medicaid clients!
I called recently to make an appointment for an adjustment to my partials , to tell them I'm in pain and that I need to speak to Dr. Decoursey before I came in. She gave me an appointment for a week out and that he would call me the next day. He did not or at all. I canceled the appointment the night before as a result of bad treatment.
I wanted to tell him of my experience from the last visit. The Nurse was adjusting my partials and 15 minutes in, told me she was done, that to take them home and if I'm still experiencing pain to come back. I told her that I was in pain now. She said " well we don't want to lose the integrity of the partials" forget about my integrity!
I was leaving , the receptionist told me that I owed 59$ for the visit, I asked why wasn't my insurance paying for it? ( reasonable question) she said " hold on Ma'am, let me see "
Then she said "Ma'am , it looks like your maxed out on your insurance for the year " I said that I wished someone had told me this was about to happen( reasonable ) and handed her my credit card . Then she said " and Ma'am, we've already written off quite a bit for you " ( i had a trade with the dentist , his idea ) i said nothing though.
Then she said "hang on Ma'am let me talk to the doctor" I said please don't do that , she said "just let me talk to him Ma'am " please don't do that .
She said " oh i need to talk to him anyway " went up to him , whispered in his ear , came back and said " it's taken care of Ma'am " I said I'd like to pay my bill. She said " it's not necessary Ma'am "
I pleaded again . She dismissed me . I left feeling patronized (Ma'am) humiliated ( we've written off quite a bit for you ) and disrespected ( my pleas to not ask the doctor and to pay my bill)
In fact every time I have left there I have felt bad.
This , with my partials , has been going on for ten months, I have pain, a new gap in my teeth, and wrinkles in my face where teeth should be .
One visit to get them adjusted was resulted in me being in a room for a cleaning , when Dr. Decoursey came in he was visibly upset and told me to come back in a week . He has promised me a mouth guard for 10 months .
Dr. Decoursey got everything he wanted from me, my insurance and a trade and then he was done. Finshed with me in the middle of treatment for my partials. Absolutely horrible behavior, unempathetic and unprofessional on so many levels

The staff is super friendly, their office manager, Jim, is extremely knowledgeable about insurance and Medicaid. The assistants are lovely and make you feel welcomed.

After my initial visit, Dr. Decoursey allowed me to be in control of what work he did, unlike other practices that give you a treatment plan and that's that. Dr. Decoursey has also worked with me after I became ineligible for dental insurance, which has been completely lifesaving.

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Decoursey to anyone looking for a dentist that is talented at what they do and compassionate about the people they are helping!

One of the best dental experiences that I have ever had. The staff was really friendly and personable while my treatment plan was explained in great detail. I will be a lifetime patient.

I hadn’t went to a dentist in quite a few years. I knew my teeth were in bad shape I hadn’t been taking care of them like I am supposed to be but Britnee constantly reassured me it was okay and they could help me. After realizing the extent of damage my teeth were in Dr. DeCoursey reassured me multiple times it would be okay the damage was fixable. Not to mention they are very reasonable. I haven’t went to a Dentists office where I felt comfortable with in the first visit as I had here. The doctor and the staff make you feel like family. I would suggest anyone looking for a dentist here it is by far the best!

Everyone at North Shore Family Dental Care gave me exceptional care. From the front office to everyone that works in the back, they have the utmost professionalism and bright, smiling faces. I won’t be going anywhere else for all of my future dental services!!

The atmosphere is very welcoming and so are the staff . I always leave satisfied knowing that my teeth are well taken care of. I would highly recommend North Shorr Dental.

Great experience! Went in for a 2nd opinion/ consult and decided to use Dr. Brett for my treatment. Loved the atmosphere of the office and the friendly staff. Looking forward to continuing my treatment plan with Dr. Brett and his staff!

Love this place! No one likes going to the dentist, but at North Shore they make the process painless, quick, and easy. Very friendly staff you really can trust.
