The Dental staff and office staff are great. They are skilled, professional and very kind.
As an adult, don’t expect to actually receive any dental care from SCH. In the time it takes to receive dental care (in my case 2 and a half years on a wait list for an appointment) a small cavity has turned into a needed root canal, and I still don’t have an appointment. In hindsight, it would have taken me a quarter of the time to save up the money needed for this procedure and pay out of pocket. I didn’t realize that my tooth had decayed into such a bad state until I started experiencing extreme pain. It took me two days of waiting in the lobby to be seen as a “walk in”.

My first time there, it was nice. Greeted by very friendly people, made me feel comfortable.

The lady who is taking temperature in the front is not welcoming at all. I understand that mask is required even if you are fully vaccinated, never forget to bring mask she won't let you in even with appointment and won't offer a mask provided by Shasta Dental on her table to give away to patients that needs it at the moment because according to her "they would not want people to get used to get a free mask."
Receptionists and other staff's are very helpful and considerate. Overall it's a good visit.

I took my 6 year old son here today. Overall, we did have a pleasant experience. The assistant was very kind and understanding. My problem is with the way I was spoken to as a parent of a child with cavities. I was made to feel like it’s my fault he has cavities in his molars. The dentist blamed it on possibly too many snacks and not enough brushing. That may be a factor but you failed to mention the other major factors in tooth decay- genetics and fluoride. You didn’t take time to educate me on fluoride or how Redding is notorious for tooth decay because of the minimal amount of fluoride in the water. It’s funny because his pediatrician educated us on it and they’re not even dentists. Water filters even filter out fluoride. Children’s toothpastes don’t contain fluoride. So for the first 5 years of his life his teeth lacked in fluoride. But I tried with adding in fluoride toothpaste but it was unfortunately not enough. You also didn’t ask me about any familial experiences with tooth decay. Genetics play a huge role in your teeth. I am not a negligent mother. You also didn’t ask about his teeth grinding that I checked on the list. Teeth grinding weakens enamel. Weakened enamel is prone to decay.
The only possibly negligent thing done on my part was not being able to have him seen in a dental office until now. The pandemic made it nearly impossible to get in. I had to wait a couple of months just for this appointment. And his fillings will probably take even longer to get.
I was a dental assistant for years and saw plenty of children with cavities. It’s not uncommon. We made sure to explain tips and tricks to help prevent them. The staff was great with my son, and this is about him, not me, and I will try to give it another shot.

Very kind and considerate staff, reasonable wait times. My only complaint is that the staff push for certain solutions that might not be ideal for you, stay informed. But the rooms are clean and the nurses are courteous. The student dentists are well supervised by a floor doctor. This place is busy, it can be difficult to get an appointment.

We were so impressed with our first visit to Shasta Community Dental Center. There was a bit of confusion on the time of our appointment. But Melissa worked it out and got us in. The hygienists and dentists were kind and so good with my four year olds. Thank you, Shasta Community!

This is about the only dental facility in Shasta County that accepts Medi Cal and they have a 2 year wait list for new patients. Despite that, when I called them they encouraged me to show up as a walk in. After a bit of a wait they saw me. Everyone was professional and took care of my issue. Will return if another issue arises.

The have saved my life a few times.

Everyone was friendly and professional. I was seen precisely at my appointment time. I received a full examination including x-rays and doctor exam in a little over one hour. This facility is very deserving of five stars.

Today (Oct 2) I had my teeth cleaned and polished in less than an hour. I barely sat down in the waiting room before they called me back. They are so awesome!

I am so fortunate that Shasta community health dental center was able to help me last week as a walk in to take care of a a tooth that a crown had been broken off several months ago and became abscessed. I was in a lot of pain had made several attempts to fine a dental office accepting new patients. Everyone involved in working on my tooth were so pleasant and professional I couldn't find any other dental office that could have assisted me better and as quickly. I am so thankfully happy with Shasta Community Health Dental Center!
