Dentistry of San Francisco, General & Cosmetic Dentist Dr. Joseph DDS

I felt safe, taken seriously and in professional hands immediately. My super pearly whites are ‘really pearly white’ and feel great after such a thorough and pleasant cleaning session. Plans for cosmetic improvements that were in my list, already discussed and shaping up to become a new reality.

Beautiful office, on time appointment and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Fabian up front, the dental technician, and Dr. Joeseph were warm and welcoming. The all made a great first impression. I dam in to get a second opinion and a quote for Invisalign and left with great information, a clear timeline for the work and was quoted less than a nearby dentist for the same work. I would come back here anytime. Very impressive and easy to see how much Dr. Joeseph cares about this practice amd his staff.

I just moved here from Chicago and this is the best dentist office ever. The Doctor was very good and Katrina, what can I say other than the best hygienist ever. I was in from Los Angeles, staying at Union Square's Westin St. Francis, when I lost a temporary crown late at night.

Dr. Joseph saw me first thing in the morning, was incredibly professional, efficient and friendly, taking care of the issue easily and quickly. His staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful and I was able to resume our family vacation, hardly missing a beat.

Couldn't be happier and couldn't give Dr. Joseph a higher recommendation.

I was a patient of Dr. Petrini's for many years. This office has the best staff, they are lovely people and great at their jobs. When Dr. Petrini left I was worried about having a different dentist. But Dr. Joseph is also a great dentist. I am so happy that he took over the practice.

Life is full of unexpected things. I can say for sure that unexpected things are well covered here. I would like to think I am ready, these guys make me feel like I am in an Easy Recliner after Thanksgiving. There is no better feeling then that.

I love these guys and gals. They go the extra 1000 miles to make me comfortable and to decrease my anxiety. Yes I get anxious around drill sounds.

Everyone is polite and concerned. Believe it or not after spending time getting work done when I left I felt excited about returning for the follow up visit.

Katrina is the BEST hygienist. Love her! Dr. Joseph is great as well - very friendly and a self-professed 'dental geek' - they know their stuff, take it seriously but do it with a smile

Shout out to Fabian for getting me in for a last minute appointment. Dr. Joseph listens to my concerns and I leave his office a happy patient.

The care and service are always excellent here. And it's great to have a dentist like dr. Joseph that you have complete confidence in. My teeth are something on which I don't spare expense. I want the best.

I went to Dr. Joseph after having a bad experience with a previous dentist. I sustained a sporting injury that broke half of one of my front teeth in half. I had unfortunately sought out treatment immediately from an emergency dentist not having done my due diligence (I was under the impression that the tooth must be fixed immediately). If you take anything from this review, please always do your due diligence to understand the situation prior to treatment. The first dentist I went to informed me that I would need to have a root canal and crown placed on my front tooth since the break was too close to the dental pulp. As I learn more, I’m finding this diagnostic may not have presented all the options (there are alternatives to root canals such as pulp caps which allow the dentin to be rebuilt over time).

Anyways, the crown placed by the original dentist was horrible. The color nor shape matched my other teeth and the crown was uncomfortable in my mouth. I refused to have this crown permanently cemented and instead went to Dr Joseph. Dr Joseph explained my options thoroughly and explained that lab made crowns can be created much better than those created at a dental practice. A fact I did not know going into my original appointment. Dr Joseph removed my crown and performed a build up because the last dentist failed to do so. Dr Joseph’s placed a temporary crown in place while I waited approximately 2 weeks to visit the lab to get my crown matched to my other teeth. The temporary crown Dr Joseph created was already much better than the attempted crown from my prior dentist.

When it came time to get fitted for my permanent crown Dr Joseph was patient and allowed me the time to go back to the lab to get it re-touched. Dr Joseph was very diligent in his observations and provided feed back to the lab to make adjustments. It took multiple trips back and forth. Dr Joseph was even willing to put another temporary crown on so that the touch up process with the lab could go into the next day (or week) if needed.

(As an aside, I noticed that when getting color matched at the lab the crown color seemed like it matched my other teeth closely but once I got home and saw it in a different color temperature I noticed it was about a half shade off. If getting color matched for a crown remember to review the color under different light hues: fluorescent (and now LED in many places) lighting found in most offices tend to have a high CCT while many homes have softer/warmer (more pinkish hue) color temperatures. I would advise to observe a crown under a high CCT (>5500k), a warmer CCT (<3000k), then under sunlight which is the baseline that all artificial lighting color rendering is compared to. I unfortunately failed to do this during my shade matching.

Anyways, I wish I had gone to Dr Joseph to begin with. I would have saved a lot of stress and possibly more of my tooth. Dr Joseph was patient and honest during the entire process.
