Dentologie - South Loop

I love Dentologie. Very professional, latest technology, amazingly talented and friendly staff. They don’t pressure you to have things done or guilt you about flossing. They are upfront about prices too. They have TVs on the ceiling so you can watch When you are reclined. Great place.

Allison & Dr. Matt were great! They made me feel very comfortable and welcome. They both seemed very knowledgeable, and gave me good advise about oral heigene, as well as thoughtful recommendations for future dental procedures, and how to best care for my teeth.

My overall experience with Dentologie has been wonderful so far. The facility is modern and well-maintained, and the staff are all very friendly.

I would highly recommend my dental hygienist Stephanie - she did a great job with my scaling and root planing treatment, while being composed and responsive to any of my concerns. I would also recommend my dentist Dr. Reem Akel, who was prompt to respond to any questions I had regarding my treatment.

My only gripe would be with the online software used to enter patient information, and fill and sign forms. It was difficult to use, and although I filled the required information in advance, it apparently was not saved and I had to fill it again during my first visit.

I had a very pleasant experience at this location. Everyone that was working at this location was exceedingly helpful and accommodating. My dental hygienist, Allison, was absolutely amazing and went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable and accommodated. I am a quadriplegic and she really made me feel accommodated in the office. I would wholeheartedly recommend this location.

Always a fantastically welcoming visit experience. I've been a more frequent visitor than I'd like admit and have only received the upper echelon in terms of care and service over the last 4 years as a patient. I've had my share of dental nightmares and Dentologie has quite honestly a dream come true. Highly recommend for preventative care and the more serious work of crowns and root canals. I've had the full experience and have found this practice to be top notch in every sense.

Went here for my first time today. Super nice staff and very clean place. Very informative yet they don't push you to do anything. I don't think I have ever learned so much at any dental office in my 28 years of going. I was also shocked to be able to get my next appointment so soon. I definitely plan to make this my regular dentist!

Just went here for my first visit today and it was great!! It's very chic and spotless, and every staff member was great. The receptionist was friendly, the hygienist was efficient and thorough, the dentist herself was fun and informative, and closing out was simple and easy! To me this is how a dental visit should be.

I look forward to dentist appointments!! -something I never thought I'd say. They take BCBS, they don't take advantage of you like what other places might do, they are affordable even without insurance, they are thoughtful (Allison even remembered what TV show I watched last time to try and put it on!!), and they are honest. Thank you Dentologie for taking care of me over the years!! Also, I was supposed to be charged a few hundred dollars for some x-rays, but they ended up taking care of it on the house. Wild!!!!

I've been going to Dentologie for years. Even though my family now lives in Lakeview, I'm willing to make it down to the South Loop for appointments here. I've had Invisalign taken care of here (a long but thorough process!), regular check-ups, and fillings over the years. I've never had a long wait, the staff is always friendly, and the facilities are consistently being refreshed and updated. Thankful to find a place like that genuinely cares about its clients!

My original review was five stars! This was due to the great customer service and clean office. I would recommend Dentologie if you’re just getting your teeth cleaned.

Here is why I am changing my review:

I had a cavity that needed filling. Apparently it was so bad that the dentist said we would need to shave down my tooth and put a cap over it (aka, cover it with a fake tooth). I’ve had plenty of cavities, a root canal, and even my wisdom teeth removed. Due to my experience, this felt a little off. To say the least, I felt like I needed to get a second opinion AND thank god I did.

I went to Strobel dentistry because he has been practicing for nearly 20 years. I did not tell him about Dentologie. He said he could fill the cavity and he did, not problem. He said based on the X-ray, it was definitely deep but he knew there would be no problems based on his experience.

I would like to add: not only did my red flags off at Dentologie, it was specifically because of the dentist. He looked very young so I asked him his age, he tried to joke around saying he wasn’t young and he just had a baby face. I learned he was 27 and then I was really concerned because he was my age and I’m only 4-5 years post college, which means he is too which means he is fresh out of dental school.....anyways, due to his young age and lack of experience, I did not want to be his experiment for learning how to shave down a tooth and place a cap.

Dentologie had also said they would call me to schedule the procedure and give me a cost estimate and they never did. I was shocked considering my cavity was apparently “so bad” that they would need to do a procedure like that......and yet months and months went by and I never heard a word.

Not only did the second opinion save one of my molar teeth’s, it also saved me money and I avoided an unnecessary procedure.
