I recently moved to the area and after "shopping around", I chose Drake Family Dentistry based on the amount of amazing reviews I read and I'm so glad I did. I went in for a routine cleaning. The hygienist was so thorough yet gentle. She was excited to talk to me about her favorite products so I could benefit from them, too. Note, the products were not sold at the office so I'm confident it wasn't a sales pitch ;). She took her time and was so friendly. I ended up having a few cavities that needed fillings. They got me in the next day and the doctor was SO gentle and conscious of my pain level. He and his assistant were a well oiled machine and worked efficiently and with respect towards each other. Finally, the front office staff actually greeted me with a smile and a conversation (unfortunately, this is a rare occurrence these days) and seem genuinely happy to be at work. If you're looking for a small town feel with a doctor and staff who really care, I recommend Drake Family Dentistry!

I have such a fear of needles and so going in to get a cavity fixed was very stressful. The team at Drake Family Dentistry was wonderful. They were very calming and helped me calm down, and the way they numb the area prior to the needle made the experience less stressful! Great team!

Dentist is a SCAM ARTIST. I went in for a routine checkup and was told that I needed multiple crowns due to stress fractures. He tried using scare tactics, telling me my teeth could break at any minute which could cause more issues in the future. Alarmed at this information, and never having had any previous teeth issues in the past, I decided to get a second opinion. I’m SO glad I did. I went to another dentist in Kansas City area, and the other dentist told me that my teeth were in perfect condition, and that I had absolutely no stress fractures. The new dentist had no idea why Dr. Drake insisted I needed multiple crowns. Please, if you value your teeth and don’t want to be scammed out of money for things you don’t even need, GET A SECOND OPINION. If you are a long time patient here I encourage you to get a second opinion before you get any more work done with Dr. Drake.

Let's face it, no one enjoys dental work, but a good dentist can make it as 'less terrible' as possible. Got three fillings done in 45 minutes, and even the numbing shots were relatively smooth going. For a generally unpleasant procedure, Dr. Drake made it as quick and painless as possible. Can't beat that.

Dr Drake is the best. Prices are great but more than price, when you go to a dentist, I want them to be caring.
Caring is the best word I have for Dr. Thomas Drake. His manner, his attention to detail, all were outstanding.

I've been going to Dr. Drake for the last two years since moving back to Kansas City and feel he does a great job. I grind my teeth at night and so he fitted me with a night guard. Also had problems with permanent upper retainer from my orthodontist in Nashville that Dr. Drake was able to fix immediately for me. He's gentle and respectful at filling time; making sure that there isn't any pain associated with the process.

I've gone to Dr. Drake for 6 years now and I'm not going anywhere else for dental work. I've NEVER not had the staff call me a day or two before an appointment to remind me, which REALLY helps me, and I always get all the options for any work I need which is also great since I don't have insurance. I don't think there's anything Dr. Drake doesn't know about dentistry -- I don't know how my experiences could have been any better. Oh, and no waiting when I arrive! I almost forgot, I've never sat in the waiting room more than 5 minutes before seeing Dr. Drake. I've never been to a Doctor or Dentist where that was the usual experience!
