Dr. Charlie Kincaid and hygienist Jane have been my dental team for YEARS. I totally respect them and the work they’ve done for me. HOWEVER, I went today for a cleaning. First, the front sidewalk is covered with old wet leaves and the front inside entry is dirty. Second, THERE ARE NO CHAIRS IN THE WAITING ROOM (when I asked, the reply was “oh because of Covid.”) WHAT? Since when can’t chairs be cleaned and placed apart from each other? So people waiting for their appointment, and sometimes filling out forms, have to stand. Third, the stand up equipment I saw has a layer of grime and there are cobwebs on the return air vent in the lobby. I do not believe either Dr. Charlie or Jane is responsible for this but I have decided that whoever IS responsible is not someone I wish to continue helping support financially. That person is seemingly disinterested in cleanliness or in patients’ needs. This is a private dental practice, not a financially unstable public clinic, and the physical conditions here are UNACCEPTABLE. After many decades with the Drs.Kincaid (Dr. Paul and now Dr.Charlie) I will not be back.

I have been attending Associates in Dentistry for over two years now since being on a limiting dental insurance plan. I have encountered many members of staff, dental assistants as well as two dentists. Personable, knowledgeable, helpful, and generous are all terms I could use to describe everyone. I had gone quite a while without dental care and they didn’t sugar coat it- my teeth needed attention (pun intended). From my college years I had a chip in my front right tooth, and they filled it. Tooth chip origin details aren’t necessary. Well, it fell out a couple weeks later mostly because it’s a difficult area to patch and mend. They replaced it for free on a whim upon noticing it was gone, doing so on a Friday, at 4:00pm before closing. My thoughts on the bad reviews below are that they are just some curmudgeons who are difficult-to-please people in general. I appreciate the help from Associates in Dentistry and will be a customer as long as I’m in the area.

I give Associates in Dentistry my highest recommendation. Dr. Charles Kincaid is the best dentist I've ever had. I've been his patient for about 22 years. He provides prompt, excellent & gentle care for my dental emergencies, cavity fillings, root canals, and crowns. I started with him when another dentist told me two teeth "must be extracted - no choice." Dr. Kincaid saved them and I still have both. He once referred me to a great endodontist who helped him save another tooth.
His dental hygienists, particularly my primary one, Rachel, are effective, relaxing, and tightly team integrated. They give great instructions & recommendations from flossing to toothpaste and more. The Associates in Dentistry office works seamlessly as a preferred provider for my dental insurance and bills me accordingly. AAA+

Dr Kincaid is a fantastic dentist and I finally found a dentist I can go to because I'll be using him for my partial plate.

I am asking for information. Is Claudia Kincaid a dentist?

Looked like you step back 30 years ,
Very inconsiderate billing practices,
No place to sit , posted masks like 3rd world country . Left taking my business elsewhere.

This office is AWFUL. doctor kincaid is horrible. He let my tooth not be worked on to the point of it having to have a root Canal. The insurance guy is awful as well. He will not help you AT ALL. I will say the hygentist are pretty good though. But the dentist is AWFUL, I would not go to this office.

Do NOT go here. I went here thinking I'd get great treatment, and.the initial appointment seemed fine. But then I started having extreme pain. I'm a pain management patient and, as all pain mgmt patients know, their pain doctor treats only chronic pain, not acute or pain resulting from a procedure. So I explained this to the dentist, yet they did not adequately prescribe me medication. Once my pain management doctor called them and demanded they take care of me, to their credit, they did give me a more appropriate prescription. However, I was still in extreme pain. I called the next day, in the morning during regular business hours, and explained that I was in a lot of pain still and didnt understand why. They assured me the dentist will call me back. They never did. By that afternoon, a walk in clinic I went to for help referred me to Free State Dentistry to get help. Not only were they super friendly and professional, they got me in right away, took xrays, and established that I had dry socket. My mouth was so inflamed that they couldnt even numb me enough before treatment because it had gotten so bad. Anyway, after getting help here I decided to terminate going to this God awful place. When I called to cancel my appointment, the dentist who treated me answered and proceeded to literally argue and imply I was a drug seeker when I expressed I was upset about not getting a return call. She even had the audacity to keep asking me what medication I wanted, which deeply offended me as I do not abuse medication. To wrap this up, this place was absolutely terrible and it is highly recommended you dont go here.

Charlie has been my family dentist since I had teeth. I hear horror stories from friends about all kinds of seemingly un-needed dental work that cost bazillions. If you are looking for the best dentist who does good honest work and will make you laugh while he is doing it - look no further. He is approachable and his staff have always been good to me. He has great local art in his office and has served and serves many of my favorite Lawrence neighbors.

Excellent service over the years. Accurate diagnosis and through care, I totally trust Charlie with my dental health.
