Barras Family Dentistry

Update: We went to Dr Barras for years, absolutely love them! We moved to Houston and made the trip back to Lafayette for awhile but eventually went to a dentist here in Houston. The dentist commented on some of the extensive dental work I've had done and that is was literally some of the best work he had ever seen! Not only were we happy with his work but other professionals went out of their way to complement the work done by Dr Barras. We have decided to keep making the trip again back to Lafayette just to get our teeth cleaned. If you are not using Dr Barras you need to start.

Original review: Dr Barras and his associates are by far the best we have even had. We are still driving 4 hours from Houston back to Lafayette to continue with them. If that does not say how much we appreciate them, I don’t know what does. We trust them and believe in their work.

Had a bridge come loose last weekend & called first thing Monday morning & Dr. Christy saw me right away. She & her capable dental assistant Shawana worked hard to get the cement loose in order to re-seat the bridge with new cement, and got it done with considerable effort. They were great, making sure I was comfortable and numb in my mouth as the anchor teeth were sensitive. They did a great job & I was treated great!! Would recommend them heartily to anyone.

Everyone was very respectful starting from the receptionist to the dentist to the person I checked out with. Very happy and I would recommend this dental office to anyone including my family.

BEST dental experience ever. My 3 year old was excited to go after just visiting the office and had a WONDERFUL experience the day of her appointment. I was SO, SO, SO impressed with the staff. We just moved back to Lafayette from Texas and I am thrilled to have found an office where our entire family can receive dental care from an amazing staff with the latest technology in dental care in a beautiful, new facility!! Cannot say enough good things about this place!!!!

My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Barras for dental checkups just over a year now and I have to say that from the first visit we were very impressed with the professionalism, thoroughness, and the friendliness of the staff. I am highly pleased with Barras Family Dentistry and will continue to see them regularly. They really make you feel that they value you as a patient and deeply care about your dental -- and general -- health.

We have been with Dr Guilbeau since he first started his practice good luck on your retirement you will be missed!! The staff at Barras’s Family Dentist were awesome very sweet with a great personality!

When we arrived the staff was extremely nice and had all of our paperwork ready, after I filled it out we waited less than 5 min. The office is very welcoming, clean and tidy, we all felt very comfortable there. Today we went for my three children's (ages 6, 4, 2) routine check-up and cleaning. The staff was so kind and understanding, they all took their time and explained everything to them. Dr. Barras has amazing bedside manner, listened to every thing we had to say and answered our questions. I cannot say enough good things about Barras Family Dentistry. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I cannot believe how painless the extraction of my wisdom teeth was, even with all the stitches. The staff and the affiliate staff are awesome, very knowledgeable and friendly; they did a great job making me feel safe and calm (I was petrified).

The facilities are welcoming and my favorite thing is how they keep in touch every step of the way via email/phone call/text.

Friendly, capable staff. I always hated going to the dentist before coming here (I’m 41), and I now have no desire to go anywhere else. Also, the large windows in the patient rooms are fantastic.
