Scheduled very quickly as a new patient for me and my family! All the staff were thorough, efficient, and friendly. Best technology I’ve ever encountered- all up to date equipment and advanced scanning and cleaning! I loved my experience and will stay with them!! Love love the POSITIVE atmosphere! Thank you all!!

I absolutely love this dentist. My 3 yead old son loves coming here. Everyone is incredibly nice. It's a clean and safe space. The hygienist is gentle with my teeth and explained everything to my son as he did his cleaning. Highly recommend!!

Step 1: Dentists of Highland Park canceled my original appointment without rescheduling me because one of their providers quit. It was up to me to reschedule. I made a new appointment.

Step 2: I was called prior to my new appointment by Abby for my updated insurance, which I provided. They weren't able to verify it by the next day when I arrived, but did not notify me of the issue. I didn't have my card on me when I arrived because I assumed they had my information from the day before. I was unable to have my appointment because they hadn't verified my insurance information. I interacted with Abby and Juan. Both were professional and polite, despite my frustration.

I called to provide it when I got home, speaking to Juan. The information they gave me matched what I thought I had provided. I also emailed a copy of the card. I was told that they would verify and get back to me.

They did not, so I followed up. I spoke with James at the front desk who I had not interacted with up to this point. James extremely rude when I tried to reschedule and accused me of providing the wrong company and not knowing what my insurance was. James refused to schedule me within the calendar year.

I asked to speak with another person, and they were able to get me an appointment at the West Saint Paul location.

Step 3: I had a great experience with Andante at West Saint Paul. Dr. Thorson then (Egan) cleaned my permanent retainer aggressively and flossed multiple times. My retainer was damaged in the process, and she suggested I have it removed and be fitted for a removable retainer. It felt a sales pitch to fix a problem that I didn't have walking into the office.

The entirety of the care team kept me well informed during my procedures. Due to their patient care skills I felt welcomed and heard at all points during my appointment. I couldn’t have asked for a first better appointment with this team and would reccomend them to anyone who asks!

I went to this clinic in fall 2021 and had a mixed experience. It had been years since my last cleaning, so I was nervous. They got me in quickly, the appointment started on time, and everyone was friendly and non-shaming.

They told me I needed to replace a lost filling, fill a new cavity, and get a two-appointment deep cleaning (scaling and planing) with a laser treatment and antibiotic irrigation. I agreed to replacing the lost filling and requested my x-rays for a second opinion at the recommendation of a dentist acquaintance. I'm glad I did.

I was diligent about flossing and using stannous flouride toothpaste while waiting months for a second opinion appointment. I was evaluated at the UMN dental clinic by a dental school faculty member and a student. They disagreed with the aggressive treatment plan I was recommended, and instead recommended a regular cleaning and flouride treatment. They said my teeth looked to be in good shape, no reason for a deep cleaning, and couldn't find a cavity that needed treatment. I had the standard cleaning done today with no further recommendations made.

I will say that the Dentists of Highland Park did a great job with replacing my lost filling, and if I needed acute dental care I would trust them to do the work competently.

I had a great visit and purchased the discount/membership plan for 3 people. Dr. Thorson was extremely kind and spent time answering my questions. The front desk was also helpful as I purchased a membership plan and scheduled future appointments. I asked for a receipt and it included the total but I would have preferred something Itemized for my records. I thought the music, while I hummed a long in the waiting room, was a little loud (I have tinnitus and really had to focus to hear). And the lack of interior doors means I have to filter out the office noise to hear the dentist (not super relaxing). The door decision is probably a corporate office design problem. The noise itself (not including the music) was appropriate for an office. Next time I'll wear my earbuds.

The office manager here, James Gabriel, is single handedly the most unprofessional and incompetent individual I have ever worked with.
To be clear - I had great experiences with my dentist and dental staff - however I will not be returning (was a patient for two years) due to James. He does not listen (runs pre-treatment authorization without insurance after I specifically ask how much procedures cost with insurance), is unwilling to consider the dental office has made a mistake (they lied to me about when a dentist was in network), takes zero responsibility, and is rude/gaslighting behavior. I'm sorry James but there is no way you are paid enough to defend this clinic with your life. He seriously needs to work on his problem solving skills.
Once I was able to work around James and speak with the dentists directly my issues were cleared up in five minutes (but I had to deal with James for weeks before I was able to make this happen by advocating for myself; I had my HR rep involved as well and she had the same experience).
Prior to James I had other issues with office management as well - no calls about surgery procedures and moving my surgery dates at the last minute (from when I had three dental insurances to when I had one insurance).
I cannot help but feel this clinic does not care about patients and only wants money. If office management is turned around I would recommend this place but as of now I would strongly suggest you go ANYWHERE else. Or even do not go to the dentist - honestly it is not worth the hassle and money you will shell out.

Be warned and please be diligent and have a current pre-treatment estimate on file before you do anything. I had to learn the hard way and I hope I can save future patients from the terrible experience I endured here.

staff does NOT listen is just here to take as much of your money as possible while giving as little care as possible. I have very special needs that I specifically and repeatedly addressed and was assured would be handled with the utmost respect. It was not the dr was rude laughed in my face and when I declined payment thry made it as difficult as possible to receive my refund after i paid privately.

Fine experience when you can get seen, but very difficult to get appointments in the first place and I've now had 2 cancelled on me in the last month. Look elsewhere if you want reliable service.
