I have a big fear of the dentist...I mean BIG fear. The staff here is by far the most caring I've ever experienced. My dental assistant Ashley was a sweetheart. She could tell just how scared I was and made me feel so comfortable. I'm actually looking forward to going back.

My original post a few years ago was five stars as the staff here was very friendly and my services (routine) up to that point were great. Since then I've had billing issues that aren't resolved. $1500 for a crown that isn't covered. My wife had the same procedure done at a different dentist and paid less than half of that--it was covered. Same insurance. When I called to speak to someone about the insurance I left a message and never heard back. Then they started billing me finance charges.

Six months later (billing issues still unresolved) on a routine cleaning they said the crown was the wrong size and would lead to issues down the road, they wanted to redo it.

But the last straw was this past week. I was out of town visiting family and had a tooth crack and had an infection. Lots of pain, bleeding, sleepless nights. I waited purposely to get back into town so I could see them and not make an out of town emergency visit . I emailed them for an appt and never heard back. I called the morning we returned and spoke to someone on the phone. They said they were full and could see me the following Monday. When I asked if I should just go to my regular doctor due to the infection and pain they said they would talk to the owner to see if they could fit me in. They never called me back. Time for a new dentist.

I've had teeth cleaned, filled and capped by Jim and his team here ever since he took the business over from Dr. Kimsey, and I continue to trust his professional care and appreciate the thoughtful prep., attention and follow-up from the staff, and their efforts to help me leverage our insurance and out-of-pocket options to cover costs. Had gone to this place for my first initial cleaning. They had told me I had a cavity that I needed filled. Before I left the office I gave them some insurance information and they gave me an estimate for about $75. They had sent me a phone call and a letter "signed by the dentist" stating that I really needed to get it done and I felt kind of "pushed." After the filling I got my bill for $193. *confused* and my insurance stated that the dental office should have been more aware of what my insurance would cover and not giving me false information. I'm not the only one who has been told that this office is after $$. Either way, nice people but totally looking out for themselves. Gave them their $193 and it will be the last time I deal with their money hungry selves again.

Dr. Chougule is tops. We have had her caring for our teeth for several years. She is conservative when it comes to cost, and progressive when it comes to care. We travel from Waxhaw and it is worth the trip. Great Dr., great staff.
