I’m really sad to be leaving Dr. McGavin’s office because he truly is a great dentist. However Myra at the front desk is the exact opposite. She is very disrespectful and condescending.
This last Saturday I received a bill in the mail for a procedure plus a late fee because 2 months have passed. I was confused as you would imagine because I just received it in the mail but they were saying I was 2 months late. I called to ask what was going on as I only did a cleaning which is covered by insurance.
Myra called me to inform me that it was my responsibility and even though the dental assistant made a mistake, it was my responsibility to pay. She then proceeded to insult me and my family over a 50$ bill that shouldn’t have happened. I told her I’d pay and hung up because I didn’t want to argue, I just wanted to know what happened. She then text me on my personal number to continue to harass me and continue to insult me and my family.

Dr. McGavin is the best dentist I’ve ever experienced. I’ve had more than my share of dental issues since I was a child, and Dr. McGavin has helped manage the problems and create affordable treatment plans. I recommend Dr. McGavin to everybody who ever mentions needing a dentist.

My entire family and myself have been going to Dr. McGavin for over 12 years. He is simply amazing. He's very good at putting kids at ease. My son recently fell while playing soccer and knocked out a tooth. It was after office hours so I left a message on the emergency line. Dr. McGavin called me back 1 minute later and met with me to make sure my son was okay. Talk about going above and beyond!

Wait! don't panic, it is not as bad as you think but it could be if untreated.
Now you may not be as lucky as i was, that's because i was medically examined and treated by Dr Scott K. McGavin D.M.D West Jordan Family Dentistry.
I don’t know why they call the dentistry “family dentistry” but one thing remains incontrovertible, Dr McGavin and the entire team sure treats you as FAMILY. This may not mean much to you, but as an immigrant from Nigeria, West Africa, being treated as FAMILY at West Jordan Family Dentistry was indeed unprecedented and it means everything to me and my family.
Thank you Dr Scott McGavin for all the very detailed examinations, treatments and professional insight towards helping us prioritize our oral health.

Great Dentist.
Horrible office staff. Over 30 years of patronage ruined by a condescending, rude, arrogant office staff.
The services performed are top notch. However when treated with such disregard for polite and courteous customer service I believe the services rendered aren’t worth it. I hope that Myra can learn from this experience and not turn away more long term business that would have continued to be loyal to this Dr.

I have been to a few dentists in my time, but none that I liked as much as West Jordan Family Dentistry. I'm giving this review specifically for the way Dr. Scott McGavin treated me as an individual and as a patient. Very professional & VERY knowledgable.
He told me he had done some research about receding gums (because he had seen me the day before) and mine are quite severe for my age. Apparently I am extremely aggressive when brushing my teeth. 🥴
So be gentle... unless you want your roots exposed the way mine are 😬
