Unnecessary Work Expensive

Let me start by saying the front office staff is great; friendly, proffesional, all around pleasant to work with and the 2 stars is solely due to them.
I went to Alaska Dental Arts for a second opinion on work I was told I needed, and while they did say I needed a little less work it was still thousands of dollars worth of fillings. Well, today I got a third opinion from yet another dentist and was shocked to find out that I need zero dental work, in fact try as she might the dentist couldn't find a single cavity on my x-rays(taken today) or when she did an exam and I know 12 cavities bad enough to need work didn't just disappear between May(when the first x-Ray was taken) and August (second x-Ray). She told me that many patients who come to her from Alaska Dental arts were told they needed unnecessary work. I'm never going to Alaska Dental Arts again and I would strongly advise anyone who 'needs' an excessive amount of work to please get a second opinion, it might save you thousands as well as the pain of extensive dental work.

Friendly Staff Clean Office Great Service

The staff in this office is amazing. They always make me and my family feel welcomed and comfortable. The office is clean and up-to-date. The ladies up front do a great job explaining any out-of-pocket expenses so I’m not left feeling confused. Dr. Lowe is super gentle and quick. We’ll definitely be referring all our family and friends to their office.

Dissatisfied with dentist Limited options for treatment Unsatisfactory teeth whitening

I’ve always received great care at Alaska Dental Arts in Juneau until my last visit. It was a cleaning and X-rays. The tech who cleaned my teeth did a great job. It was the female dentist that I had never seen before. I assumed I was getting the same dentist I had before. I was told before that I had 3 options to filling the hole where a tooth was removed. 1. Use a permanent type of bridge that would hook to another tooth, 2. screw a tooth into the bone or 3. leave as is. When I asked the female dentist she said I could not have the bridge because the tooth next to it was not straight. She never offered the screw tooth into bone. I asked if there was a way to whiten my teeth without using trays. She said my teeth are already white. My teeth are not white, otherwise I never would have asked. I wish I could have had the male dentist that I had before. Not sure about going back unless I can have the male dentist again that I’ve always had. Otherwise staff is great.

I love these guys. Everyone is extremely kind and helpful and the doc is really understanding of my irrational fear of dental work. They are quick but do fantastic work. I love that they're always singing and laughing while I'm there. Best dentist I've ever been to. My kiddos have always had a great experience with them, too, so I don't have to have separate dentists for my family.

What an amazing team that works at Alaska Dental Arts, I had to have a root canal and I suffer from anxiety so being worked on it's not a fun thing for sure. They did an amazing job and the procedure went mighty fast. I was so very happy. I would recommend this place for any dental work. Great Dentist and great Team!

I've never had a bad experience in this office, and I've been a patient for over 3 years. Friendly staff, especially the receptionist at the Front Desk. Sorry, I don't know her name. She's very patient and friendly. Recently, I used 3 credit cards to pay for my bill, and she had no problem doing it. Every office should have a receptionist like her -- she's a good rep. for the office. When a refund was due me because my insurance paid more than expected, I got my refund back right away. The only complaint I have is that the waiting room is small so that there is no privacy when discussing your medical and billing issues with the Front Desk. Otherwise, I would've given them 5 stars.

Nayeom was my hygienist today and she was amazing! Super sweet! Super efficient. Got us done in a timely manner and still took care of all of our concerns. Dr. Lowe was great as always and the staff is awesome!!!

From out-of-state & in pain, I was able to get an appointment the same day. The gracious receptionist, Maggie, contacted my insurance provider to ascertain my 100% coverage & the treatment was performed immediately so that I was out of there in a little over 2 hours from the initial call! (We're not in Minnesota anymore, Dorothy.") Dr. Lowe & Brit were courteous, competent, & efficient.
Mentioned needing a crown on an unrelated tooth & by the time the procedure was over, Maggie had determined the insurance covered 100% of the cost of the new crown, so scheduled another appointment at a convenient time. Haven't had anything work out that smoothly in years. 1000 thank yous!
