Young Smiles Children's Dentistry

I have to thank the dental assistant who did a great job on my daughters teeth. We were finished within 20 minutes. We sat there waiting for the dentist for the next 30+ minutes. I understand that he has other patients but I could hear him talking to the mom of a patient about her daughters treatment plan. When approached by another assistant that we were waiting for quite some time he just brushed her off and said he had to check on something. He spent less than two minutes looking at my daughters teeth said her teeth was great. As we were leaving they asked if I wanted to schedule another appointment in six months. I thought about it and said yes, I can always cancel it if I want to. I am going to look for another dentist and yes cancel my daughters next appointment.

Both my young kids love Young Smiles and the all the staff. They are welcoming and engage with the kids, they explain everything that they are about to do so the kids understand and aren't afraid. My kids get excited when it's time to go to the dentist, that alone says a lot.
I can't say enough good things about this business and it's employees.

The people working here have been very thorough when explaining the treatment my child needed, in helping me figure out my insurance coverage and in answering any new questions that I've had between appointments. They have also been kind and reassuring to me about my child's dental needs (Instead of shaming me). Dr. Sarah has been patient and kind even after my 2-year old kicked and screamed during the appointments we've had so far. All in all our experience at Young Smiles Children's Dentistry has been very good.

Great with kids! My 5yo son had a bunch of issues with his teeth previously and Dr.Young has taken great care of his teeth, he's now in the no cavity club! They fit us right in when he chipped a tooth and managed to do a quick filling with no needles or gas necessary! Its important how well they treat the kids, make them feel safe, and excited to go to the dentist again! My 2 yo also has been seen a couple times and has no fear of the dentist bc of their fun environment!

This was a wonderful experience for my kids. The dentist, dental assistants and office staff are professional, kind and patient. Mr. Young enjoys and respects his clients, treating children right. My kids have never been happier to brush AND floss twice a day! I have been taking my children here for the last several years and will continue to support Young Smiles. I also very much like their new building. The lobby is spacious, bright and welcoming.

The Dentists are wonderful. The office staff are a different story. They don't seem to want to be bothered with questions. They can become abusive. I left the office with unanswered questions because the front office staff became abusive and unwilling to answer questions.

My 3yo son was complaining about tooth pain so we took him to Young Smiles to see what the problem was. Our insurance hadn't started yet so they waited to have x-rays done to save us money. Dr Young was very patient with my son who was not thrilled about having a stranger poke around his mouth and after a while my son finally let him check out his mouth. I was so happy with how friendly everyone was and how understanding they were about us not having insurance yet that they will definitely be my son's normal dentist.

Truly had a great experience! They made our kids feel comfortable and I was able to stay during the whole cleaning. They boys both got X-rays and the techs made them feel very comfortable. Dr. Young was very kind and amazing with my kids. Thank y’all for a great experience! They even made our boys feel special by giving them incentives to keep cavity free!:) There is a cavity wall that their pictures are up on! I really hope I can have that cute picture after they take them down:) Tooooo cute! My boys will be back and excited to be going!:)

I came in to Young Smiles this morning as I was going to enquire about setting up appointments for my 2 grandchildren as my family have recently moved to Fairbanks from the Lower 48.
This was my first time at your practice and let me tell you in all my years, I have NEVER witnessed anything so disgusting and humiliating towards any human being that I witnessed today by your front desk staff towards a young mother.
This mother was told by your front desk staff that HER child was not allowed to bring any food or drink into the facility as the last time they were there, HER child made too much of a mess...are you kidding me? Then she proceeded to tell her that they have a lot of children that come here and none of them have ever made a mess like HER child did!!! OMG!!!
I am even more disgusted as when I came on here to write this review, I see that this poor young mother (who I could see was visibly shaken and almost in tears during this slander by your front desk staff) has already written a review which I read before writing my own.
Her young child is deaf and cannot speak!!!!!!!!!!! This is what she was trying to tell this woman at your front desk!!! OMG!!!! No wonder she was distraught and she did so well in keeping it together. If it was me, I would have unleashed on this woman!!! I just cannot put this into words anymore! This young child obviously has a disability. This young child cannot communicate with the world and has not learnt how too yet. This young child can only communicate the best way he knows how too in trying to get attention on what he is trying to say or what his needs are, and if that means he threw some crackers and knocked something over, what "hearing" child doesn't do that? You people should be totally ashamed of yourselves and I will never be bringing my family to your practice and I'll be damned if I ever recommend you to anyone!!

We absolutely love the friendly staff st young smiles! The crazy thing is my kids ASK when they get to go again! I appreciate the time The Dr. takes with each of my kiddos and how he fully explains what’s going on! He doesn’t sugar coat things and always considers and tells you all options available. We love young smiles and their amazing staff! From the wonderful ladies up front to the awesome ladies working in the back and Dr. young of course! If I could I’d give them a 10 out of 10.
