Young Smiles Children's Dentistry

Taking my kids to the dentist has always been stressful (to say the least) but then we came to Young Smiles and every person we came in contact with here was so nice and helpful, doing everything they could to make the appointment as easy for all of us as possible. It was like Murphy’s law with us that day and I can’t thank them enough for their patience, help, knowledge, and kindness!

Both of my children has been seen by Dr.Young and his staff. My son was first seen at 1 years old and they did so great with him that it encouraged my 4 year old not to be scared anymore. The whole team is AMAZING with kids of all ages.

My son was scheduled for a procedure here but his assistant was busy playing on her cell phone via an I-watch and planning her vacation. She complained about my son over reacting because he was gagging on his spit while she wasn’t paying attention and was suctioning his cheek instead of where the spit was and then got mad at him for over exaggerating. This left red marks on his cheeks and irritated the side of his mouth where it was pulling on him.

She left me and my son unattended in the room while she went to help another employee find a file. All while she had the nitrous oxide started for him. Since she was multi-tasking and not focused on the task... she did not add any smell good addins to the mask and my son complained about it and I was told he was being too sensitive. Then she realized 10 minutes later that she didn’t add the smelling extras to it. I was done! I took my son and left without the procedure being done. I informed the front desk that I was not happy with the service and though they seemed apologetic they did not correct the situation at all.

They instead tried to schedule my son to put him completely under to have the procedure done without me present. Needless to say I took him to a different dentist to have the procedure done.

My son is typically a very yes sir, yes ma’am kinda kid and very well behaved. I had never had this kind of problem before at a clinic specializing in children. I had to take a cool down period. When I called to talk to the manager I was informed that the tech no longer worked there.

When I told them I refused to pay for such bad service; they then tried to collect from a previous visit with an erroneous charge previously forgiven due to a misunderstanding with the front office clerk. Now conveniently this clerk no longer works there either.

The front office told me they were a in network provider. My insurance provider stated that the clinic was within my plan but that not all the doctors here were. When I inquired at the front desk to determine who my son would see I was reassured that I would be seen by someone in network for my plan.

They were not and the office manager wants collect the mistake from me now that I am complaining. I sincerely feel lied to. She even told me the clinic was in network and tried to tell me I owed the money from the old bill because my insurance wasn’t that good and didn’t cover 100% even in network and I should just pay her. I called and put her on a three way call with my insurance who informed her she was not an in network provider and she denied that she said she was and I that I was being abusive on the phone by trying to call and work it out. The insurance representative felt sorry for me and reassured me that I was not being abusive, but very polite about the whole matter.

Once I started sharing what had happened to me here, other families stated that they had felt pressured into procedures and that they did not like the treatment either but since he is the only pediatric dentist in town they felt trapped.

This dentist office may have been great in the past and the dentist himself is nice but his office practices and staff are aweful to work with! Stay Away!

An Upset Mom

We LOVE the staff and dentist at Young Smiles!!! After having a bad experience with a dentistry in N.P., we switched to Young Smiles...and I couldn't be happier! They are GREAT with children.

My daughter absolutely loved it. It was a beautiful establishment and the staff was very nice and welcoming. The doctor himself was amazing and kept me informed about everything! Can’t wait to take my kids back.

Young Smiles was recommended to us many years for our son who is Autistic. Dr. Young and his staff are always very nice and accommodating. My son can be hard to work with but they always get the job done in fun and creative ways. I would recommend Young Smiles.

We have 9 children & 5 grandchildren. We have traveled throughout the USA & lived in various states within our great nation. We have searched for years to find a dentist & dental crew like Dr. Young & his team. The first backdrop is the bright & colorful decor. Enhanced by the uplifting atmosphere created by the unique staff from the front counter as your greeted with a smiling & knowledgeable receptionist to the hands on dental crew rolling out the red carpet for Dr. Young that seams to be born into dentistry, to the back office billing staff who is dependibly effecient as they promptly answer any question you have with respect & dignity. Patient centered care ❤ is obviously on the forefront of their mind. You as the patient guardian are treated like royalty from the entryway to the exit. The patient centered experience is exemplified by the rewards freely given to each individual patient without regard to the cost. Service & excellence are second to none! If you have not experienced Dr. Young & his team you are missing out on a once in a lifetime opportunity to lead your child to a joyfully memorable 5 star first class dental experience that will impact your child for a lifetime!!! I wish my parents found a Dr. Young when I was a child. My oral health would be as different as the East is to the West!

I took both of my son's there on this Thursday... Stuff and the dentist was amazing.. They really made my kids feel comfortable and they talked to them the whole time.. You guys are great..

Yesterday was our first visit, my sons never been to the dentist before he’s four. He had a great time they’re fun, professional, and very passionate about what they do. We are so glad our pediatrician recommended them!

Great experience for my kiddo! She initially was pretty nervous but Dr. Young and his staff helped her feel comfortable and positive about it instead. Very knowledgeable and professional!
