Dentists of Mesa

Thanks to Marili, I’m reviewing my favorite dentist. I’m always treated with kindness by the dentists and staff. Very professional and helpful. Highly recommend.

Lily was so nice and professional, she answered all the questions I had about my insurance. Dr. Ho did a great job and was also very professional. Thank you for all your help.

This office is affiliated with my regular dentist and accommodated me quickly for an emergency root canal. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and, although the root canal couldn’t be completed due to a crack in my tooth, Dr Pratt was professional and courteous.
They wound up pulling my tooth while I was still numb from the root canal and Dr Chen was equally as professional and courteous and pulled my tooth quickly and with very little trauma on my end.
Unfortunately, when it came to billing I was charged for an extraction involving sectioning of the tooth and / or removal of bone, neither of which was required. It was a simple extraction that would have been under $150 at Western Dental, but was billed to me at just under $400. I tried getting clarification from the office and was told that it was just a code they had to use.
Wanda was very vague with her explanation so I called my dentist office for further clarification and was told, this time, that it was a flat fee for being part of their discount plan. I’m not sure where the benefit is for being part of a discount plan to pay more than double for a simple extraction. I worked in dental offices years ago as a chair side assistant and understand that the dentist may go into a procedure thinking that the tooth will need to be sectioned because of root placement, but when the actual procedure isn’t what you expected and it turns into a simple extraction you adjust your billing codes. Not in my case. The ADA codes are very specific and there is a code listed for “simple extraction.” All answers I’ve received regarding this issue is as if that code doesn’t exist.
In closing, you will not find a friendlier office. They were awesome to deal with until it came to billing. Seems a little shady on that end. Beware, a simple extraction should NEVER cost $400.

This office is amazing. The whole staff was attentive to my needs. The hygienist Claudia did an great job getting me prepared for my treatment. I didn’t need any work with the dentist Dr. Chaffee but his exam was thorough. Blaze took good X-rays and made me feel comfortable. The financial part of the visit went smooth. Wanda did great giving me all the details about my insurance. Thank you everyone at Dentists of Mesa. Vanessa and Makaylin thank you for your support as well.

It was a wonderful experience! Dr. Chen and Marili were very kind and entertaining. I would recommend this office to anyone.

All around excellent service. The front office staff, dental assistants, hygienist, and Dr. Chaffee were terrific the whole time. The treatment was discussed upfront, as well as costs. I highly recommend this office. You will not be disappointed. 😀

Update - I just left my deep cleaning, and I could cry. I haven't smiled like this in years. ❤️ confidence is truly the most incredible gift their staff has given me.
