Acworth Center for Family Dentistry

When I first went to Acworth Dentistry in 2017 the service was amazing. From 2019- present it has been a nightmare. I purchased their Smilecare discount plan which I've had since I started going. 2 days before my semi-annual cleaning I was told the $55 cost with Smilecare had increased to $174. Of course I called & was told they changed the policy/terms which I questioned, because how do you change policy/terms in the middle of a contract? They honored the existing terms. Then I received a call later the same day saying my dental hygienist wasn't available and they needed to reschedule to get him. When I got there it was not my hygenist. It was someone new I didnt recognize, but who informed me they serviced me in 2019. I have my teeth cleaned every six months and specifically said I would reschedule for my hygienist! I started going to Acworth because they were full service. They had an oral surgeon on staff. Now you have to go to at least two different locations to get your services. About 3 months ago I was told I need a crown & root canal. They said I may not need a root canal, they did not know, but no one at that office could do a root canal. Went to get it trusting the diagnosis & treatment would be accurate & done right.. They cut the outside of the existing crown which had a metal base and the pain was too much, no one was authorized to administer anything for pain other than shots. No nitrous oxide. or to calm me down & I could not take it. I went to another dentist who said he didnt think I needer a root canal. My son went and was given a diagnosis another dentist totally contradicted their diagnosis. He went back to Acworth with that information and of course they re-evaluated and are now scheduled to do a procedure on a totally different tooth! All I can say is personally I am dismayed that a practice I once had confidence in I now do not trust at all. I'm done.

Love, love, love this dentistry! The people who work here are genuinely concerned over my dental health. They are so gentle and you don’t feel rushed, if you have questions they answer them to the fullest.
I watched them care for my elderly mothers teeth, and I trusted them when she had her teeth removed. The Dentists took notice in her over all health and medical concerns and made excellent decisions over what they needed to do. Plus, they were extremely gentle with her.
So needless to say, they became my dentist office! Love the staff here in Acworth and also in their Hiram office!

Awesome experience!!! Pain free. I know when you think of going to the dentist it can be scary but have no fear, you will be well taken care of. Sergio Rowe is the best at what he does( dental hygienist). If you are looking for a dentist or if you are just tired of your old dentist hurting you then I would highly recommend Acworth Center for Family Dentistry!!!!

Dr. Waddell and his team were absolutely phenomenal to me throughout the whole process of oral surgery and dentures. I really couldn't have asked for better care.

Acworth dentistry provides a great dental experience. All the staff is friendly and attentive. They ensure to keep you apprised of the most information to continue your dental health. The office is always clean and welcoming. Protocols to keep patients and staff safe are well implemented.

I met with this office and mapped out the procedures I needed and what insurance would pay. We worked out dates to have the procedures done so I knew when money would hit my HSA card and I could afford my portion of the bill at each visit based on what they told me. It was all planned out in detail prior to accepting the procedure and I paid every cent according to the plan THEY SAID I WOULD OWE.

Then a year later they say Insurance didn’t pay so I owe over $1400 now.

When I called the insurance company they said it’s because they didn’t run a predetermination of what insurance would cover so they aren’t paying for a crown. Insurance says I should have gotten a filling and didn’t need a crown so that is why they aren’t paying.
(But the office said they got the Info back from my insurance company pre procedure. I was adamant in knowing ahead)

And made decisions based on what they told me.

They go for the most expensive procedure to get the money instead of making sure the patient is covered and can afford to pay. They know this will happen since I have read several other reviews with patients in the same boat. I have called so many times and no one calls back and they won’t set up an in Person meeting to discuss.

They know how billing works and they are causing hardships. I would highly recommend that you make sure your insurance is notified and will cover what this office says they will cover before you have anything done. We aren’t talking $100-$200. We are talking thousands in billing difference.

And they are threatening to send this to collections if it’s not paid. (I have a great credit score). I pay all my bills on time.

This is a dishonest billing practice and a horrible way to treat people.

I have to say that I have had the very best experience here! From a person who has not wanted to see a dentist for a long time, this was not what I expected but absolutely what everyone hopes for!
The entire staff was friendly and professional from the minute I walked in the door. I spent a couple of hours here during my first visit and received a very comprehensive explanation of my recommended care from Dr.Taub and from Brittany.
They really care and that means a lot. I suddenly look forward to the chair and really look forward to having a healthy, shining smile once again!

I love this organization! The staff are always friendly and show great customer service. There is never a long wait time, I'm always in and out. This was my first time at the Acworth location and the facility is just as neat and clean as the Hiram office. I will be having my wisdom teeth extracted in a few weeks and while I was nervous the staff put me at ease and I am confident my procedure will go smoothly. I'd recommend this center to everyone I know.

This place is amazing! I have severe panic attack disorder and they made me feel totally at ease. Fantastic group of folks!!!

I had a great experience. It was the first time in a long time that I have been to the dentist. There was no shaming me for that like you normally get at a dentist office. I went because I was having pain and thought that I needed to just get dentures. The whole staff was so inviting and informative. Turned out my situation wasn't as bad as I expected. I had my wisdom teeth and a molar removed 2 days later! Definitely referring anyone who will listen to this office.
