If you need a crown, do yourself a favor and find a place that knows what they are doing. Ordered a porcelain crown which he could not get to fit correctly so he ground it down to the metal. Didn't bother to tell me so when I got home and saw the big spot on my tooth I called to complain. He acted surprised that I didn't want a hole that resembled a cavity in a crown I was paying for. He agreed to replace it the next week but still couldn't get the fit right and had to grind it down almost to the metal again. Although it didn't show at the time, a few years later what little porcelain was left was gone and I found myself staring at the same metal spot.
