Very poor experience. I was told by Art of Modern dentistry that insurance was not accepted for retainers--then when I called my insurance they said that was not the case. Turns out Art of Modern Dentistry never even submitted a claim because "they typically aren't covered". Took 3 months for me to get this fixed and it clearly was not a priority for them--I had sent multiple inquiries with no response.
On top of that, I had a crown done here and had pain following the procedure. I called the dentist for a follow up and never received a call back. I finally sent an upset email describing my poor experience and only then received a request from Dr. Daftary to come back in.
I don't feel like this group is organized or professional and I do not feel comfortable with them working on my teeth or billing my insurance. I would recommend you go somewhere else.

Great experience! Art of Modern Dentistry has the latest technologies...witnessed first hand with the Invisalign scanning system. Dr. Daftary takes the technology one step further, by providing a warm bedside manner and clear explanations for each and every step of the process. This has been consistent with all of our dental procedures here. Even the friendliness of Paulina at check-in, makes you feel that you're in the right place. Great asset to the neighborhood.

Have been a loyal customer at Southport for more than a decade. Every member of the staff - from the marvelous Paulina at the front desk to dental assistant Kamal cheering me through my X-rays to Dr. Daftary telling funny stories during a procedure to distract me - is warm and kind and willing to help me through my assorted dental anxieties. Would highly recommend this location.

I went to the Southport location a for a few general appointments. I didn't really care for the hygenist I saw- the few times I went, I asked questions about gum recession, and got different responses back each time, which made me question how informed they were about dental issues. For example, during one cleaning, they hygenist told me that once gums recede, there is essentially no reversing that", and the next time I went, the hygenist told me that by doing xyz, "they can grow back". This hygenist also burned my mouth with a tool used in the cleaning, and basically blamed me and didn't apologize, which also bothered me. On the billing side of things, I had patient payment responsibilities (which I am fine with) from appointments on 12/16/2020 and 6/23/2021- but was not given notification of these built up fees until 2/16/2022, which is really unfortunate, as I am recently managing some other major health related payments and receiving this bill in the mail from long prior appointments was kinda like salt on the wound. I am no longer a patient with this practice, as I just didn't feel comfortable or trust with stuff going on. I was also pretty taken aback by what I was quoted for, to get invisalign with them.

I had a great time at the dentist. Who knew? The entire staff is incredibly friendly and really makes a trip to the dentists a fun and positive experience. They really know what they are doing and they explain everything for you so you know exactly what to expect. I hadn't been to the dentist in a while and they really made everything fun and relaxing. Dr. Daftary is incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly and positive. I'd recommend Art of Modern Dentistry to everyone. They do the job very well and they make it a lot of fun
