For some reason just got a bill in the mail for the past 2 years for free cleanings. I just went a few weeks ago and they said cleanings were covered by my insurance. I always pay outstanding bills before I leave the office. They wouldn’t have let me come into the office if I had owed for 2 years.

I've been looking for a dentist office for 20 years that exhibits kindness, compassion and patience. I have crippling anxiety over going to the dentist and end up never returning due to rudeness and embarrassment that they have made me feel. This is the first dental practice that I have been to that treated me with respect and dignity. Karen the hygienist was incredibly kind and explained everything as she examined me. Dr. Smith was gentle and informative about my future dental plan moving forward. I feel I have finally found a permanent dental practice that will eventually eliminate all of my anxiety issues that I have carried with me for decades. I can't express the relief that I feel. Thank you.

Everyone should take these reviews with a grain of salt. People don't typically get on the web to write good reviews, only to complain. I have been going to Dental Associates for over 20 years and they are the best in town. First class service, excellent hygienists and Dr. Hall has also been my dentist for the past 20 years. His care is excellent and is very trustworthy. A dentist isn't going to tell you that you need a procedure when you don't "just for the money," and of course if you don't keep your appointments you will be charged, they loose a lot of money every time you don't show up. If this place wasn't the best then why are they completely booked 6-8 months out every time I go in for a cleaning?

I had a crown made at this office. It broke within a week. I called to see what they could do since I had just had it put it in. They said nothing these do not last forever. I understand that but $500 later it should last more than a week. Then I went in for cleaning and they said I need deep cleaning which my ins does not cover so I asked them to just do what my ins does cover. They said ok then i received an outstanding bill that ins did not cover because they did a cleaning that was not covered despite my request. I do not recommend them as they do not do credible work and their prices and billing are not handles professionally or morally.

I will never use this office again. I called to make an appt and to make sure they accepted my ins which they assured me they did. I then recieved a bill for $200. When I called they said they didn't accept my ins and that they had said they did because they just assumed that was the case. They would not work with me on this at all. I was told "there is no way in hell our receptionist can keep up with all the ins companies " and that's why I was told they took it even though they did not. I would not go here unless you want to be charged for services that they tell you are covered.

I usually loved Dental Associates - I took my kids to Tiny Teeth for a little while since they couldn't see under age 3 at Dental Associates and it was closer. My 3 year old was fine there. Tiny Teeth's dental procedures wasn't covered under my insurance, but the cleanings were so I decided to switch back to Dental Associates now that my son was 3 and to get some work done on his fillings and my daughters. They could fit me in the same day I called to switch to get 1 of the fillings for my son done so I scheduled it. My son wouldn't open his mouth for them and they wouldn't give him any of the gas to help relax him. Since it was so short notice my son hadn't had a nap and I wasn't feeling well. I suggested having him in my lap and leaning his head into the dentist lap (like they did at Tiny Teeth since this was his first visit to this dentist office), but they disregarded my suggestion and told me I needed to have him put under to get his fillings done. We left and we came back on our second scheduled date for my daughter and what would have been part 2 of my sons fillings. I thought that they would at least try again with my son, but the dentist sent out an assistant to tell me that he refused to see my 3 year old again. I had been working with my son for a week on opening his mouth and listening more for this appointment plus it was first thing in the morning so I figured he wouldn't be grouchy from not having a nap. I'm very disappointed in Dental Associates and after today I will never be going back. I believe the dentists name was Dr. Carpenter. So if you have small children and they want to put you with him, I'd ask for a different dentist.

had the most traumatizing experience at this dentist that I have had with ANY medical experience in my life. From the moment I sat down with Dr. Clark I had the feeling that he was looking down on me for not having dental insurance for the last 5 years. He said he would have to remove my tooth. They started the numbing process and it was incredibly painful just the get me numb. Of course having a needle in your mouth is painful but this was the most pain I have ever felt in my life. After he numbed me he started to pull on the tooth and I felt an extreme amount of pain. I let him know. He tried pulling again and I told him “that is pain not pressure.” He gave me more shots to numb me and started pulling again…same situation, extreme shooting pain down through my jaw and nerves. He finally gave me a different numbing medicine and was able to pull the tooth out with no pain to me at all. Turns out I was non receptive to the lidocaine so I had been feeling everything. After the tooth was out he was very reluctant to prescribe pain meds saying “well the tooth is out so you should be fine” even though I was still in so much pain I was shaking.

This had all happened on a Friday morning and I spent the whole weekend in terrible pain. The Norco 5s he prescribed didn’t even make a dent in the pain I was feeling. I called 1st thing Monday morning and let them know about the pain and they had me come in. I saw Dr. Clark again and told him about the pain. Without even looking in my mouth he said “well you got a tooth pulled so it’s going to hurt” like im stupid and don’t know my own body. I told him, “yeah I know but I can feel something is wrong”. After taking a look he finds out that he left a bone in my mouth. He said “I didn’t see that when I took out the tooth”….i had to start the extremely painful numbing process all over again. He asked if my mouth was numb and I explained that it was not. He started pulling on the bone and couldn’t get it out. I was yelling in pain. I did not know what hurt worse the numbing needles or him pulling the bone so I just let him keep pulling. He finally got it out while I was crying. Then he refused to refill my pain prescription telling me some story about an army vet he know that overdosed on percoset 10s…which isn’t the same situation at all.

I really miss Dr Miles. I followed him from Halstead MANY years ago and had my kids start going to him when they were VERY young as well. I have considered going closer to where I work in Newton since he retired, but the hygienist are why I keep coming back. They are great. My husband likes their convenient late evening hours. I wish the best to Dr Miles on his well deserved retirement, but it just isn't the same not hearing his voice in the hallways.

Do not go to dental this practice! Several family members have had to have dental procedures redone after Dental Associates dentist work. Their teeth cleaning and overall dental practices are many years behind other dental practices in the area.

I’ve always been apprehensive and nervous going to the dentist since I was a kid. Never here. They are gentle and do such a thorough job cleaning teeth and with dental procedures. Everyone is professional and courteous. Kura is an awesome hygienist!!
