I am in a wheelchair and can’t stand and the crew goes beyond their ways to help me out to be able to get the service I needed. I have been rejected by other offices but now I’m working to the smile I want. Thanks

I made an appointment for my husband for a basic cleaning. He left ONLY with an x-ray completed and was told he needed to pay $1200 for a deep cleaning. That $1200 cleaning could be broken down by quadrant...I am not sure WHO gets their teeth cleaned one quadrant at a time, but, this was their recommendation if he did not want to pay the $1200 up front. We have a basic insurance plan (2 cleanings a year, one x-ray, simple extracts / fillings) and according to them, they accept our insurance BUT the basic cleaning was not covered...unless he coughed up another $150. The doctor, Dr. Crear, seemed like a nice person. However, the doctor seemed to know the system and was playing into it. The whole experience felt like you were being manipulated to spend out of pocket money, regardless of insurance. Additionally, there was no private space for getting your teeth cleaned. Rather, it was an open room with no real divider between patients. This may be common practice...but we are accustomed to having our own room for getting our teeth cleaned. I would not recommend going to Smiling Faces Dentistry on 4747 Earhart Blvd. Find another provider.

I have to say that my experiences, especially today, at Smiling Faces have been so positive. The entire staff is so friendly and professional, and they are very technologically advanced. Today I was in dire need of a procedure but didn't have the funds to cover it. Erin graciously decided to go ahead and perform this procedure, which took a significant amount ot time, for FREE. Completely unexpected on my part, of course. She was so friendly and thorough.
I cannot thank Erin and Smiling Faces enough. I will continue to have all of my dental needs/procedures met by this terrific office.

I went to this place for a MEDICADE CLEANING,ONLY! After they took X-rays on me,The first Male Dentist came in and told me I was fine to get my teeth cleaned for the Medicade price and I had 1 cavity I should be worried about, Then this Lady comes in saying I need a deep cleaning, she didnt want to do the cleaning for the Medicade Price she wanted to charge me $140 just for a Cleaning, After I told her the Male said I was fine to get the Medicade Cleaning she said no he was talking about the Cavity He was gonna do my Cavity, WOW But we never discussed him doing my Cavity he only told me I should be worried about it, But someone told me that Medicade gives us X amount of dollars for Fillings, I Never knew that. But obviously this Dentist Lady knew about it. Moral of the story , What she didnt know was that I had just recently gotten Braces, and I was currently active and up to date with my cleanings I was just looking for places that did Medicade Cleanings and she was the first Dentist that popped up in my search (False Advertisement)I had just had scaling and root planning done A month before I went to her office so thats how I knew she was a Bold face Liar when she said I needed a deep cleaning. I RAN OUT OF HER OFFICE ON EARHART BLVD. Months later she has the Nerve to schedule me some appointments, out of the blue one day I received a text message saying that I have an appointment at Smiling Faces I thought someone had text the wrong number until someone really called me to confirm the appointment that I never scheduled LOL it happened about 4 times This is one Dentist that I will never ever visit again and I will Never refer anyone to. Someone really needs to call and report this office because I am sure there is alot of Medicade Fraud going on in the Offices that she runs. (P.S. I went to another Dentist when I left her office and they cleaned my teeth for the Medicade Price. No Other Dentist has ever told me I need a Deep Cleaning since I left her office) She Lied to me ,She didn't want to do the Cleaning for the Medicade price she wanted me to pay $140 Cash Money.

When people say stuff like "I cant support black business cuz of ..." I'm always like "nooo, We have to advocate for our own and give them patience and guidance" -then I came to this dentist office and I understand COMPLETELY, why people say they cant support black businesses. My first visit, we waited 2 hours to be seen (myself and my 6 years old) I stayed cuz I really wanted to make the black dollar go where it counts. I watched as the old women working the registration desk were rude and aggressive to just about every patient. There was a sheet that said we were offered transportation so when I got to the window to give my paperwork back I said, "Hey I didn't sign this because we weren't offered transportation". - "We're offering it to you" She snapped. "Nooo, thats not what this paper says it says to initial IF we've been offered and either declined or accepted it." "No it doesn't." She snapped again. SIS, I'm an english nazi, stop. I pointed out the grammatical errors as she rolled her eyes and said "Do you need transportation or not?" "Yes, sure." "Okay I offered it, now initial." LOL OKAY.

After being escorted past the waiting room we waited an additional 20 minutes. I had made my appointment in time to be seen (myself and my child) before having to be at work that evening, a 3 hour window. It was nearing too close to my shift start that I told the very polite floor manager/ dental technician, "Hey, we'll just reschedule. I have to be to work" - Honestly she was so nice I let her talk me into staying and doing our x-rays so that we could come back for any procedures on our next visit without any more waiting. The dentist was very nice, (Didn't catch her name but she's short and either filipina or latina) I thought how easy my next visit would be. WRONG. I could not have been more wrong.

Today i visited w/out my son and i waited almost 2 hours past my appt time AGAIN. When they called me I asked the DA would I be seen now or have to wait longer (my son would be arriving on the school bus soon and they wouldn't be able to do my procedure and I make it to Gentilly in an hour.) She told me probably not now cuz she's about to start on someone else. "Then why did ya'll call me?" I thought. - Anyway I say, dont worry about rescheduling I'm just gonna find another dentist office. Well that mustv'e upset the short lighter complected registrar attendant because when I asked about transportation she snapped at me as well and said for who? I pointed to myself and smirked light heartedly. I was confused, because I was alone. She watched me for 2 hours sit alone in the waiting room and I was standing in front of her ALONE. She goes "Well I don't know what this *points to the sky*, means who are you? - I reply, " I mean, I'm alone I'm not sure who I could be speaking on behalf of." {SN: I've taken the transportation at the end of my last appt. I was hesitant this time because its in an unmarked banged up mini van driven but a man well into his 70's who hugs the brake peddle as well as catcalls women while he's driving.} I needed to get to Gentilly in time to meet my son off the school bus. The woman ignores me and look at her 'Partner In Crime' and mumbles you can deal with her I'm going to go do this. Honestly thats fine with me, LOL. The other woman (Dark complected blonde hair buzz cut) looks me up and down and says "You can have a seat" - Obviously she was going to un-necessarily wait until she felt like it was appropriate to contact transportation, so i cut my losses and walked to the bus stop.

The problem is the old bitties at the front desk. If they could get past their ego and attitude, this could be a great dentist office because the staff on the other side was so nice and helpful. - It saddens me to say I'm going to the white people in Metarie where it might be borderline racists but a 12pm appointment time, is a 12pm appointment time.

I was totally surprised when I got a call from the doctor . You show me any doctor. So I admit I was wrong and take back everything I said and would recommend smiling faces to anyone

Dr Crear extracted two teeth from me. She was informative, professional, and gentle. The procedure didn't take long and I did not feel a thing. I encourage anyone who has a fear of dentists(I'm certainly one) to trust the team at "Smiling Faces" to get you out of pain without causing anymore trouble than you already have. Thank You Dr.Crear!!
Sencerly,

I showed up early and I had to wait 2 hours to be seen. It took 30 mins for someone to finally give me an X-ray and I thought the dentist was supposed to give you mouth wash before they remove teeth but they didn't! This was my first time at this place and I got my cavities filled and a tooth removed and I was not prescribed any antibiotics afterwards; now I have an infection. Regardless if my insurance would've covered it or not I wasn't given the option to decide to pay out of pocket for the medication. I might consider legal action if there's no solution to my pain. I will turn everyone I know away from this place! The staff was not professitonal and the dentist doing my teeth even said it herself ! She also said a dentist left because of the staff!
