I have been coming here for the past five years!! We were happy until they changed the front desk staff. Very very rude staff! They greet you with a bad attitude for forgetting to wear a mask!! They don’t try to accommodate you with appointments, they made us come back twice on the same day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon(check out the picture to see how busy they were that day). Also, a couple of weeks ago I got a call from them saying they need to reschedule our appointment because the doctor isn’t available, by the end of the phone call it turns out that they didn’t want me to have three appointments in the same day because we came late a couple of times. So basically they were dishonest about the reason for rescheduling. Very unprofessional!!

Started to go here as I had a tooth emergency. They saw me the next day and got me on antibiotics with a root canal the following day. The environment is clean and inviting and as relaxing as a dental office can be. The staff are wonderful and I have a lot of trust in the doctors and assistants I've seen. In now making them my primary dentist and highly recommend!!!!

When Dr. Alan Epstein owned Columbia Family Dentist, it used to be the best practice in the world. Dr. Epstein was a great dentist and also patient obsessed. Dr Goyal is a great dentist, however, he doesn't run the practice with the patients in mind. For example, I called a week ahead to change the appointment time of a 6-month check up. You know when you schedule those check ups 6 months in advance as a reminder? It's hard to tell what you'll be doing that particular day so far in advance. When I asked to change it, they said the next available time they could see me was 4 months later. Really? Is this how you treat a customer of 23 years? Yes, loyalty for 23 years! And it really annoyed me when I was able to book a new patient appointment on their web portal a day after my original appointment. The churn of hygienists is really high in this office which also concerns me. I personally think Dr. Goyal is more obsessed with making money than taking good care of his patients. I'm taking my dental needs to a patient obsessed dentist as I believe there are so many good people in the world who prefer put their customers interest over maximizing revenue.

Great dentist! Pain free. Wonderful hygienists. I lucked out! They took over my old Dentist practice. I was skeptical at first but Dr Goyal and team have been wonderful, even with my special needs daughter.

This dentist office makes going to the dentist bearable!! Always polite and considerate of the client/patient experience. My hygienist was very careful and thorough. Not rough or rushed. *Extra points for the tv on the ceiling!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr GOYAL and his staff today to fix a broken molar! After being recommended by a close friend, I decided to make an appointment to see him. Unlike my previous dentist, who was unable to see me for a few weeks, Dr GOYAL made an exception and saw me within a few days.
Today when I arrived I was greeted with a warm welcome. Before my appointment, they sent a text to fill out paperwork online, which made the check in process very smooth. I was taken back within a few minutes, met by another dental assistant, who set me up for my consultation.
A few key features that made a huge difference in my experience. First of which I thought was genius, they have TV’s hanging on the ceiling to distract me from what they needed to do. Dr GOYAL also used special topical numbing cream to make the lidocaine injection completely painless.
Then came the crown procedure. He checked multiple times to ensure I was adequately anesthetized (which I was) and in a few moments it was over. I felt nothing!
So far, SO GREAT! I head back for the final crown placement in a few weeks and will update when I’m finished.
Thank you Dr GOYAL and staff for your threat care and experience today. You made stressful dental injury so easy! Looking forward to many great years of dental care here with you.

It is always a pleasure to go to Columbia Family Dentist office. Dr. Sahil Goyal is a world-class dentist who takes excellent care of my teeth and family teeth. Dr. Goyal and his staff are very professional, courteous, and friendly. Whether is general teeth cleaning or any other work, they take of me and my family.

dentist there is so inept he should have his license revoked. He filled my front teeth, week later filling fell out, went back, dentist proceeded to file my down so it looks like a wolf fang. Less than a month later, my whole tooth broke all the way off. I now have sliver for front tooth and extreme nerve sensitivity

Office was clean and they did not allow public pressure to stop them from protecting all by insisting that patients mask up - and that’s extremely important. When I got there I was seen promptly and barely had to wait. The dental assistant was very professional and accommodating. The periodontist (Dr Sithe) was very knowledgeable and engaging and also answered all of my questions. Staff also appears to support each other and work together when something goes astray and help to find solutions for their patients and each other when one is needed…and yes, I witnessed ALL OF THIS while I was there. It was such a comfortable environment that aside from the location and the close quarters of the front desk to the patients, it is definitely one of the more exceptional offices in MD.

This review is coming from someone who has been coming to this practice since she erupted her first teeth way back in 1987. Let's start with the good.
Dr. Goyal is a great dentist. He listens to your concerns and keeps them in mind when making your treatment plan. If you ever have a problem with dental work, you can go back as many times as you need to until it feels like everything is corrected, and he never ever makes you feel like you are a bother, an annoyance, like you're overreacting. I had a lot of trepidation when Dr. Epstein turned the practice over to Dr. Goyal, but he and his wife, Dr. Anshu Goyal, won me over.
Onto the bad. The turnover rate in the last three four or five years has been astounding. I understand that some of it has to do with the pandemic, but this started before then. I no longer walk in to see a familiar, friendly hygienist's face and know that my cleaning is in good hands; it is a new person each time. The same with when I am having my bi-yearly exams or nominal dental work done. I walk in to a dentist that I have met once and will not see again at my next appointment. It is the same with my young children I have started bringing to the practice, one of whom has severe anxiety. It would be so helpful to them if they saw a familiar face each time they went.
Many of the hygienists now are uncongenial and make it seem like you are an encounter that they are forced to endure. This was very evident during my last visit when scheduling put my daughter and i at the same appointment time instead of stacking us back to back as was discussed when we made the appointment. Not only was I not able to be with my young child with a diagnosed anxiety disorder during her cleaning, be present during her dental exam so I could speak with the dentist and hear her health report, I had to listen to her panic and screams for me while I was in a cleaning while the hygienist offered one dry "oh yeah, I hear her yelling." That's it. No apologies for messing up the appointment scheduling, no offer for remedy, no offer to pause my appointment to allow me to sit in while the dentist was present, no offer of any sort of sympathy. Nothing.
I do have to say that this last appointment likely has tipped the scale in favor of my finding a new practice that may be more capable of treating me and my family as human beings rather than a set of teeth.
