Signature Smiles - Lathrup Village

Not a good experience!! First, you should only provides services within the client insurance. If your insurance only covers $1500 or less, you should only provides services within that cost?? If there additional charges for additional fees? Provide a payment plan within the client budget. Not through a lender company that will charge you high interest rates!! And you have to have the client permission before you request a load option!! And just because the client needs the emergency dental work that doesn't mean they are prepared to provide full payment especially that wasn't stated through the initial phone conversation.... Bad policy services.... And how was the Dentist was going to do A Root Canal on client where the tooth that is bad and their swelling in the gums around the bad tooth?? Never check for infection in the tooth??

Part 1

I don't even know where to start. I had a dental emergency back in 2018 booked my appointment, waited no longer than 10 mins(with state insurance) 2be seen, and got the tooth removed. Remind you I was in a lot of pain, a young gentleman (who doesn't work here now) did an amazing job. Fast forward today 2019 I scheduled my appointment for a Saturday with Dr. George Westphalen and he wasn't even who seen me. Dr. Jeffrey Solomon was the only Doctor working. My appointment was at 9:00am I didn't get called to the back until 9:40am. I was the first person that had arrived 20 mins early to be exact. Checked in (I scheduled my appointment for an extraction) 4 other people came in after me with the same exact appointment time. I didn't understand it. Around 9:30 I asked the young lady at the front counter how much longer? And I informed her I was the first to arrive but yet I'm the last one in the lobby waiting. The young lady then informed me that they had to clear a room. One Doctor in office, all the rooms full it just isn't professional. I then get to the back and Faye cleaned my teeth and suggested I got a deep teeth cleaning in the near future. I got X-rays and then Dr. Solomon finally came in to talk to me and asked me the reason for my visit. I explained to him my self esteem issue, the weakness in my teeth from warm and cold water, I told him my pain level from 1-10 with 10 being the highest, I was at a 3 and I also informed him I just want to get the work done on my teeth the right way. He told me ok he informed me I should remove 5 teeth on my right side including both wisdom teeth. I will admit I was nervous but willing. He then told me he would be back to discuss my decision. The young lady from the front desk (She wears glasses, long black thick hair) came to the back and she seem stunned that my insurance covered the removal of all my teeth. She then told me I really need to remove the teeth because it will only get worst in the future. She then shows me this chart saying for every tooth I get pulled I should replace with bone marrow. She advised me Dr. Solomon recommends it and that if I didn't get it my teeth would shift. She told me my insurance doesn't cover that and it would be $2,645 to be exact. I then was concerned about the payment I don't have $2,645. This lady literally set in the back with me for 30 minutes if not longer trying to persuade me to apply for a Credit card. She kept going over my X-ray telling me all the work she sees that I needed to get done. I was for 1 ANNOYED Dr.Solomon did not once come back to see what was going on, but then again being the only Doctor in office he was too busy. I don't see how people are scheduling these procedures and they are over booked it honestly isn't safe. She kept going on and on about how she felt it was in my best interest to get the bone marrow, but I didn't understand why Dr.Solomon didn't mention it to me when he first stepped in and went over my X-rays. And then it clicked, he didn't mention it because they did not know my insurance would cover all my removal plus some, so once they did she (the young black lady with glasses) followed up with Dr. Solomon and then it went from there. I myself have worked in sales/Customer Service for years and no matter what I know the pitch of a credit is the commissions the associates gets for opening one. I already know about the 38% interest rates because I had already did my research about it. The fact that she set back there and tried to pitch the credit card just for me to pay some type of money was BEYOND ME. I wasn't only disgusted I was so annoyed I ever trusted this office in the first place. I told the young lady I rather just get the one tooth removed and go on about my day. she immediately left and came back and told her exact words were "well Dr. Solomon recommends you come back after you decide you final decision" I looked at her and I asked her , "So he won't pull my tooth" she then gave me the excuse "he is very busy and he recommends you come at a later time"

PART 2

After the young lady told me Dr. Solomon wouldn't pull my tooth, that was the cherry on top of the cake. No antibiotics prescribed, no other options. I didn't imagine being turned down over money and my insurance covered it and I still had $700-$800 left in insurance money.The young lady continued to be unprofessional going back and fourth now acting Clueless she started getting snippy saying "well I'm not a Doctor" yet you set in the back room with me for 30 odd minutes going over my X-rays like she was, given me examples of why I needed the bone marrow and why the credit card was my only option. I told her I read the reviews I know you guys are pricy but I didn't know they were finesses. I got the same exact tooth pulled with state insurance and paid $140 out of pocket. She told me well priced change, the economy chances, so the tooth went from $140 sane exact tooth just on the right side of my mouth was $344 for my insurance to pay. I told her to just go get Dr. Solomon he then pretended like he was clueless if the situation back her up about the young lady not being a Doctor yet he gave me bits and pieces of information. I have since gotten all 5 teeth removed and I'm getting my left side done in a week. No Bone marrow was needed only if I planned on replacing the teeth (who plans on replacing wisdom teeth???) Oh and get this Signature smiles was going to charge me $1,345 and I paid $818 out my insurance. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.Under staffed, over booked and I'm pretty sure they have fell in the cracks doing rush jobs. I never WILL EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Word to mouth is STRONG I will share this review on every platform I can. No one should be told false information and no one should be finessed out of there hard earned money. NEVER AGAIN. Beware if I wrote a 2 page review this is serious.

Dr Solomon and his entire staff, as a whole, are excellent! From the time you walk in and leave, they make you feel welcome and comfortable. I've been to other dental offices, that try to up sell you on every little thing...not here:)
I am especially impressed with his Dental Hygienist, Brittany Kelly. She has such a personable, upbeat attitude, that makes even the most nervous of patients laugh:) Highly recommend, Signature Smiles!

Dr. Solomon checks all the boxes when it come to what you want in a Dentist ; knowledgeable, skilled, honest and trustworthy. I had an emergency root canal done yesterday Dr. Solomon and his assistant Dawn worked great together. They kept me calm and it was virtually painless. I have a great set of teeth that I am happy with and am extremely fortunate and grateful to Dr. Solomon and Dawn.

Great first experience. Staff was very friendly, nice/clean office setting. I've been having discomfort and was able to get into the office right away to see Dr. Westphalen and have issues addressed immediately. Great place, great people and will be coming here full time despite being a 45 min drive.

Dr Scott and Neta were the greatest. Very helpful and educated me on what I needed. I am so grateful for good caring dentist. I strongly recommend these guys. They are awesome.

Took a hockey puck to the face and needed to have to my chipped front teeth fixed immediately. Could not recommend a more professional and caring practice. They were quick, efficient and extremely supportive throughout the whole process. From start to finish everything went smoothly. Thank you Signature Smiles for turning a traumatic situation into a quick and stress free fix.

I have been a patient with signature smiles for many years and have always been happy with the dentist's.
I moved and started going somewhere else for several years and ended up in worse shape than imagined to need a partial. I have up with inferior dentist's and started driving 30 minutes to be happy to go back rather than 5 minutes away and not being happy with others.
